While I'm a guitarist, I can spend eons writing MIDI drum parts, but hi-hat to me is a BIG challenge and especially as to placement of open hat hits. It almost seems as if hi-hat is a standalone instrument unto itself, with an underappreciated amount of power behind them.
I truly admire this fellow. Such an inspiring and positive influence for us all! I watched a dopesticks drum cam video of Eric with Tram and fell in love with his hi-hat work! Thanks for all you do, friend. Your love for the art is contagious! :):):)
