    Got to love the new machines.
    I remember having a washer machine and never needing to clean it, it never smelled and I never had to worry about leaving clothes inside out of fear they start to smell. I also never worried much about how much I put inside the machine.. The machine would just take it.
    The new stuff is so dam sensitive it can barely handle anything.

      you also didn't get your clothes leaned as well. no matter how much you think you did. these didn't add settings and options for fun and money. some options, sure but these all were upgraded for the better.

    I was hoping that you would mention the cleaning of the rear of the machine, but otherwise excellent! I use these ingredients to clean the entire laundry room/ I put a third cup of bleach in the back where the hose goes in.

    I have a modern machine that is about 8 or 9yrs old and it has smelled for about the past 2yrs now and in my opinion they can keep these other brands because I'm getting a Kenmore or Maytag machine since I have had both years ago and never had a issue of having to clean them but I appreciate you for sharing how to clean the machine going forward. Thank you😁👍🏾

    the problem is people use the same amount of soap they did for old crappy washers. now you literally only need 3 tbps and trust me your clothes will be clean. these washers are made to clean with minimal soap.

    I agree with everything you said but would add leaving the tray open after use too as mould can build up in there and when you are going through your deep cleaning exercise don't forget to remove the tray and clean above it inside. The jets can get blocked.
    Just discovered they existed after watching another video trying to find out why my softener compartment wasn't draining.

    Binge watching your videos, so forgive me if I make too many comments. Is there a reason you would only use water on the gaskets (assuming that is what that gray silicone like circle is called) if there is mold inside? I've heard that vinegar can corrode gaskets, but is there another cleaner that is safe there? Mine has some black stuff, and I want something stronger than water to clean it. Thanks!

    Ah good, someone who knows how to use baking soda and vinegar to clean *properly.*
    A lot of folks direct you to mix the two together for cleaning, which is very rarely a useful idea. You do get a nice foaming bubbling action, but that's not soap suds, that's just saltwater and carbon dioxide. (The salt is sodium acetate, not sodium chloride, but it's still salt water, it's just a fancier salt.)
    There's a few very niche circumstances where the bubbling action itself is beneficial for cleaning. But that's pretty rare, and honestly, unless you're entirely avoiding conventional soaps, some hand soap or dish detergent will do the job better. (Oh, and don't use it to get clogs out either, you might manage to push the clog out into a wider bit of pipe where it can flow freely, but you might also just compact the clog more, making it a worse blockage that's harder to get out with the drain auger you probably should have used in the first place. They're not all that expensive, and are much easier to store than a standalone plumbing snake.)

    We just purchased a second hand washer dryer and did the deep clean and find out that a very bed smell comes from the dryer part. So when the washing is done smells good. Once a drying cycle is finished it smells disgusting. How do we clean that?? Something from the heating part I have no clue what to do. HELP

    I just bought some citric acid to do this. I wonder which one works better. I dont have a fancy machine with all the bells and whistles, its a simple top load speed queen and i love it. Can I just run the machice for a few minutes and then pause for say an hour to let it soak. My normal wash cycle is probably only 10 minutes

      Your hot water heater may be the most expensive appliance, but that's mostly from keeping the water hot at night when you're not using it. So maybe do this clean cycle when you're not otherwise using hot water.

    Just going to leave this here in case someone finds it useful one day: in our case, it turned out that the drainage tube was pushed too far into the waste pipe and the used water was unable to drain out of the washing machine as a result. All our clothes stank, even when prewashed, using double the detergent and fabric softener. We tried everything including all kinds of cleaning, with vinegar, baking soda, washing towels at 90º, the lot and nothing helped, but this did.

  • @colinsace1
    @colinsace1 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

    This is because everyone these days uses quick and cold washes which causes build up and mould!
    Put it on some hot or boil washes with you’re whites or towels use powder detergent to now and again especially for hot washes and you’re machine will never have mould or smells also leave the door a jar and run a tub clean once a month with a good washing machine cleaner
    Whirlpool do a very good machine cleaner.

    I have cleaned the machine with the washing machine cleaning packet. My gasket is stained with mold. This never happened with my top loading machine. I’ve left open the door and tray. I’ve wiped down the gasket after each use. Nothing prevents this growth making it a manufacturing problem not allowing the water to drain out completely. Seriously disappointed with this machine.

    i'm having a hellova time finding simple distilled white vinegar (either sold out or stores carry only 30% concentrated). can i safely use 30% concentrated or hold off until i find distilled white vinegar? thank you kindly.

    • @CleanWithConfidence
      @CleanWithConfidence  ปีที่แล้ว

      No I would wait until you find regular strength vinegar

    • @turtlefromthenorth
      @turtlefromthenorth ปีที่แล้ว

      30% is so called distilled vinegar, it should be clear and it works. You might have to use a full cup of it (2.5dl.), but it is exactly the same stuff. Here I get 35% for some reason, and I have never seen over 60% concentration and is not easy to find. However, you can with advantage use citric acid as a replacement, it looks a bit like sugar crystals and does a very good job.
      The drum clean on my Samsung was 60C (140F) and the normal cycle with extra water level could go up to 90C (195F), it makes a difference too.

    • @CleanWithConfidence
      @CleanWithConfidence  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@turtlefromthenorth This is actually incorrect. 30% is called industrial strength vinegar. Distilled vinegar is 5%. I would wait and find 5% for your washing machine.

    • @turtlefromthenorth
      @turtlefromthenorth ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CleanWithConfidence In the grocery stores I can get 35%, it is called vinegar essence on the bottle. It is the regular vinegar used for anything from cleaning to food. It is distilled or purified in some way.
      From paint shops and similar outlets vinegar comes in containers marked "technical vinegar" and tend to be 30% to 60% (but lower percentages are available). These are clear, pure vinegar acid in water.
      Distilled here means it is pure vinegar acid, any concentration from low to high. It is purified by distillation or some other methods; any residue from the fermentation process is removed. I guess it means much the same; "distilled", "technical" or "industrial". For most use, these are diluted in water, like in the washing machine. I have never come across the term "industrial" in local stores where I live.

    • @CleanWithConfidence
      @CleanWithConfidence  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@turtlefromthenorth Yes you must be in a different country. In America distilled white vinegar contains 5% acetic acid and is safe for cooking and using in a washing machines. Vinegar with 30% acetic acid in America is called industrial vinegar and isn't for cooking at all and wouldn't be recommended for washing machines. That strength of acetic acid would eat the rubber gaskets overtime.
