- I absolutely LOVE going shopping for SEASHELLS! My favourite buy of today was absolutely that rare orange Cypraea! I do already have one that I purchased some time ago, but this one is HUGE, so I couldn't leave it behind! After all, we are shopping hah! That was so much fun. I live in Pennsylvania USA far from any beach. I am 72 and the vast majority of my shell were bought. I have only been to the ocean 12 times in my life! One reason I love watching you explore your beaches!

I've always been drawn to shells. So many awesome ones out there! I don't have a very big collection of bought shells, but I have jars of shells that I have found and they're very special to me. There's a cool shell shop in Morro Bay, California that I like to visit. Next time I go I want to get you some California specific shells!

Jennifer I live in Inland San Diego county. I haven’t visited the beach much since I’ve been here, but do you actually find shells on the California beaches? The beach is about a 25-30 minute drive for me, but I’m thinking I should go more often.
@@maryannkom299 The beach is about 3 hours from where I live, so I don't get to go all that often. I usually go to Pismo or Morro Bay when I go. I have found shells on the beach, but not nearly as cool as the ones Jono finds. Mainly clam shells and sand dollars. A lot of the other shells are tiny, but I love them. I have found abalone and urchins before, which is so exciting! I also have a small jar of shells I found on Maui, including a couple of cowries. :-)

You bought some nice 🐚
Cyraea guttata are the only shells there to invest in. If those large tiger cowries were Cypraea tigris schilderiana from Hawaii then those also are an investment. They go for 500 to 800 dollars now (size/ condition).

Theyre probably lots more common in your area . Shells are harvested so im mixed on sales of sea life.. i prefer finding them.. thriller w hen ya score on hunts !! 😱👍😁
