    Learned a lot from these. Glad to see we’re both in the sync space! It’s been a while we need to catch up.

    Would love to hear more about the business side, like how little is too little to charge, I know people don't like talking about how much they make, but think it's important to give ballpark figures so it's not the typical race to o the bottom of new composers undercutting just either because they think that's the only way to get clients or they just have no clue and get taken advantage of.
    Anyway just found your channel and subbed after about 5 minutes of watching, looks like good stuff!

      For the most part, when you're working with libraries all money is made on the back end unless there's an upfront Sync. In that case, you'll split 50/50 with the library. That said there are some libraries that pay per track but sometimes that comes with giving up all sync income so you would have weigh whether or not it's worth it. Hope this helps and thanks for the sub.

    Hey Jeff. Great tracks!
    Would you please explain how your computer is set up? Are You PC or MAC based? On my computer (PC) - Serum and Omnisphere just once on my computer - is a strain. My "C" drive is filling up. I like Toontrack, Spitfire and Native Instruments as well. Do you use external drives? What's on your "C" drive and your external drives. What is the size of your "C" drive? Mine is 1 TB.

      Hey Kenneth:
      I’m on PC, I can get you more detailed specs but I have the latest intel processor with 64 gigs of RAM expandable to 128.
      I pretty much load all of my samples to external drives. I currently have 3 sample drives. Omnisphere, Keyscape, etc are also loaded on my external drives. I load program files etc on my C drive and it’s pretty large. I also have some internal drives that I haven’t used yet.
      Basically, I prefer to keep all my samples on the external as I plan to have a mobile set up at some point and want to be able to grab whatever samples I need.
      I have a redundant drive for all of my projects and I back up my system via Backblaze and AOMEI backupper.
      Hope that helps. I’m not sitting at my computer and can’t remember all of the specs.

    Hi, I love your videos 🎉 Any suggestions on where to submit cues like yours? I have some made, and I am trying to figure out where to license my sports hip.hop orchestral cue? Thanks again 😀 Really appreciate any advice. Have a great day.

      Did you just pull a loop from cubase, and did you alter it so it wouldn't be an exact copy? Are there licensing issues/conflicts with using loops from cubase?😊 Thanks again, lovin all your vids. 🎉

      Hey Angelina, thanks so much! The library the library that I write my sports cues for is RRHOT but unfortunately they don't accept unsolicited submissions. Check out the channel @clintmusic1as He has a lot of great info on specific libraries you can contact. Hope this helps!

    • @JHBBM
      @JHBBM  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Oftentimes I use percussion loops from Splice and either use them with another loop, chop them or change the tempo etc. I typically use these to enhance my drum groove. You'll probably run into issues if you grab a loop and it's the star of your cue or you're using it by itself, etc.

      @JHBBM  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey Angelina, check at around 11:09 in the video and I talk about what I do with my loops.

    I noticed that your tracks are in midi, I turn my midi tracks into audio then normalize then apply CLA 2A Midi vs. Audio; saving CPU? Sometimes you get a more punchy sound using midi.

    • @JHBBM
      @JHBBM  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah I typically don't bounce to audio beacause of time. I know that could come back to bite me in the future if for some reason I need to recall the cue and all the sounds are no longer available. I recently built a new computer so thankfully I don't have to to worry about saving CPU. I'll have to check the CLA 2A midi/vs audio as I never knew that.
