It's almost impossible to not fall in love with this lady. Not only because of her immense talent and mesmerizing stage presence, but after viewing her in interviews, documentaries, and candid clips you'll find that she is a lovely human being - humble, kind, gracious, classy, empathetic, witty, funny, and a true professional. She's a very endearing soul. In my 62 years, I have never heard a female vocalist that moves me more than Floor Jansen. She's simply the best there is in my book.
Interesting fact: When Floor did the 10 extra shows because of the enormous impact the 7 episodes of Beste Zangers did in the Netherlands - she reached out to the Nightwish Army and asked if we were interested in crowfunding a video of the last and biggest of the 10 concerts - to put the concert out on the net for free! Of the Army said yes. Floor had to close the funding after a few hours!! because it went so fast that she also got money to a backstage video - and a lot of planting trees (you will later learn that Nightwish are sponsoring World land trust! - and are responsible for the introduction video and music). This song is from this concert, and you should give the whole concert a listen - it's a mix of songs and covers Floor has done up til now from her After Forever days, Northward and ReVamp, plus songs from Beste Zangers and Nightwish and 'just for fun' covers she made on her YT Channel to keep in touch with her fans. Funny that it takes a Finnish band to get home recognition for Floor! Once being with Nightwish for a while she got an invitation to go on a tv show called Beste Zangers (Best singers) in the Netherlands and has never looked back since. In fact a lot of the band she uses for her show came from the "house band" used for the TV show. I'm sure you'll get some requests for some of those performances as well.

This song was originally by Loreen and was her entry that won Eurovision for Sweden in 2012. (She won Eurovision again this year with "Tattoo", the first woman to win Eurovision twice.) Floor originally covered it for the Dutch TV show Beste Zangers during their Eurovision coverage a couple of years ago. She covered the song live from her home studio in the barn of her her little farm in Sweden. She had only just had surgery to remove her gallbladder (and 12 gallstones.) She absolutely crushed it.

Floor sung many great songs on the beste zangers ( Best singers ) show. There we're intruduced to other great singers like Henk. Also Floor recently brought out a more pop influenced solo album Paragon and brought out a rock project solo album Northward. Floor has performed with many other bands and groups like Epica and Ayreon to name a few.
I would like to recommend you to watch the whole concert, because here Floor sings fantastically pretty much every genre. Guest star at this show - Henk Poort! In fact, we had to stay seated and that was very difficult for me, because I actually wanted to dance, jump and celebrate.
Totally agree. It was my proper introduction to Nightwish last November. Just stumbled across this concert video and was hooked, then went on to fully dive down the Nightwish rabbit hole from there! Looking forward to my visit to the Netherlands in a couple of weeks to hopefully see Floor in action - although a little bit concerned that she's not posted anything on Twitter since 19th June and the subsequent announcement by Nightwish that they had to cancel their Oslo concert. I haven't had the privilege of commenting on one of your videos yet, why? Because I just now had the time to binge watch ALL your Nightwish reactions today! I actually watched your reaction to "Phantom of the Opera" on the other channel w/ your friend (actually I left a lengthy comment on there addressed to my fellow Americans...). I subbed today. Believe me when I say that even after all the videos you've done so far, it's still just scratching the surface lol, which means so much more to discover and the journey is FUN and EPIC let me tell ya!!!! Floor started in a Prog Metal band called After Forever which disbanded in 2009. She then formed a heavier metal band called ReVamp where she added more metal growling and harsh vocals. When Floor was filling in for Nightwish in September 2012 through the Wacken 2013 show she was still in ReVamp. (the following year ReVamp released Wild Card in 2014 and the year after Nightwish released their first CD w/ Floor on vocals in 2015 called "Endless Forms Most Beautiful") In 2016 Floor disbanded ReVamp and focused solely on Nightwish. In 2018 she released a side Rock project called Northward. In 2019 is when her solo career began to take shape. PRIOR to Fall of 2019 Floor's home Country the Netherlands, in general, NEVER heard of Floor Jansen because they don't play metal on the radio there. So only if you were ALREADY a metal head you would've known her from After Forever, ReVamp and/or Nightwish. So, Netherlands = NO METAL. (generalizing) When Floor appeared on the show Beste Zangers in season 12 (No, not a competition, but a singing show where Dutch artists sing to each other when one of them sits on the couch for the whole episode, Floor's "couch" episode was ep4). When all the singers arrived for the show, the ONLY one who knew anything about her was Tim Akkerman who knew her from her time in After Forever. All everyone else knew was some "Metal" singer was going to be on the show. To make this SHORT, she blew everyone away INCLUDING audiences that were watching at their homes on tv. (Watch ALL 8 performances and you’ll be blown away!!!) Floor NOW became known in the Netherlands, so much so that when she was contacted in late 2019 to book Solo shows she agreed and 9 shows were INSTANTLY sold out for the beginning of 2020!!! BECAUSE many were NEW fans from her time on the show Beste Zangers Floor carefully selected songs from her musical history that would SUIT the audience she was playing to. She said it was tricky to do it in a way where people wouldn't say it was "TOO hard" or "not hard ENOUGH". Floor added a 10th solo show to the list and started a crowd funder where fans around the world pitched in to have the show recorded and released in digital streaming platforms, money was also raised for a cool documentary of the show (which is released already on TH-cam). Unfortunately that show had to be delayed because of Covid 19 and lockdowns. FINALLY in September 2021 they were able to do the show and it was all recorded. The whole show is available to stream in 4K HD. The show opens w/ Nightwish’s “Ever Dream''. Other Nightwish songs performed were "Nemo", "Elan", "Decades in the Sun", “Slow Love Slow”; the other songs came from her previous bands After Forever, ReVamp, Northward project, songs performed on the Beste Zangers show and cover songs she has been releasing on her youtube channel since the pandemic started last year, ALL worth checking out!!! They will have a Rock "sauce" but it is NOT a metal show at ALL. I have seen her twice solo and I’m gonna see her next week again at the royal park paleis Soestdijk (NL)when nothing comes in between, see Nightwish twice last year , and it’s a great experience every time , when you want to see her versatility I recommend to watch the tv show Beste zangers 2019 , in this show one guest is in the spotlight and the others have to sing something meaningful for him/her , there is a woman who made the subtitles to the episodes,I believe she called herself jennyzelf ( thanks to her) and I would really recommend to watch it full version, it’s just great , if you search for another rabbit hole I suggest a project called Ayreon , and have you heard something from Sabaton ?. You should check out some of her live performances from her new (first) solo album that was released in March. There are a couple floating around the internet, such as Daydream and Me Without You. I think my favourite track is The Calm, although I don't think there are any professional quality recordings of that one (I could be wrong). Plenty of fan footage from her concerts though. (EDIT: there's the official audio of the song from her own youtube channel, but that's the studio version, rather than live).
And while I'm at it, I watched your Epica reaction and listened to your growls comments. You do realize that Floor Jansen growls as well, very deep growls. Close your eyes when she's growling and you'll think you're listening to a dude. Think about everything you know of Classical Music. The 1600's - 1700's, right? The Harpsichord was invented. Harps had been a thing for a LONG time, and even Lutes were coming into popularity along with Pianos. The Harpsichord is the next logical progression of the Harp as a Musical Instrument, is even more technical than the Piano and has its own very specific sound. That sort of music was 'the contemporary thing', every 'cultured' person listened to it. Some became real snobs and shunned certain artists in favor of other artists. Well, along come a couple of guys, a real smart-ass named Mozart (actually knew his stuff regardless of his own personal problems; a real prodigy) and Beethoven. Beethoven was actually The Wild Child of that scene, he was THE Rock-And-Roller of his time. Rock (and so, Metal) has its roots in CLASSICAL MUSIC! The Metal genre is basically the next logical step in Musical Evolution from Rock, and Rock was the next logical evolution from Classical. This is how a Metal singer is also a Classically trained Operatic singer. Floor is THE FIRST one to say, NO, she is NOT an Opera singer. Tarja is the same exact way, NO, she is NOT an Opera singer. They both have qualities in their vocals that would have been useful in that role but Opera is far too strict; it limits artists in many ways and puts them in a box, it's HARD of the vocal chords so the Opera singers careers are notoriously short from burning themselves out... There are safer ways to do things and Metal Vocalists get it. Being classically trained is awesome...but it is not the be-all-end-all. It is a stepping-stone to bigger and better things. :)

Metal is more demanding than pop. The pop band here had trouble playing the covers. They had to learn new things. From metal to pop it's easier. There are problems with the ballads, or as Floor put it: singing softly is more difficult than singing loudly.

It's almost impossible to not fall in love with this lady. Not only because of her immense talent and mesmerizing stage presence, but after viewing her in interviews, documentaries, and candid clips you'll find that she is a lovely human being - humble, kind, gracious, classy, empathetic, witty, funny, and a true professional. She's a very endearing soul. In my 62 years, I have never heard a female vocalist that moves me more than Floor Jansen. She's simply the best there is in my book.

When Floor did the 10 extra shows because of the enormous impact the 7 episodes of Beste Zangers did in the Netherlands - she reached out to the Nightwish Army and asked if we were interested in crowfunding a video of the last and biggest of the 10 concerts - to put the concert out on the net for free!
Of the Army said yes.
Floor had to close the funding after a few hours!! because it went so fast that she also got money to a backstage video - and a lot of planting trees (you will later learn that Nightwish are sponsoring World land trust! - and are responsible for the introduction video and music).
This song is from this concert, and you should give the whole concert a listen - it's a mix of songs and covers Floor has done up til now from her After Forever days, Northward and ReVamp, plus songs from Beste Zangers and Nightwish and 'just for fun' covers she made on her YT Channel to keep in touch with her fans.

Funny that it takes a Finnish band to get home recognition for Floor! Once being with Nightwish for a while she got an invitation to go on a tv show called Beste Zangers (Best singers) in the Netherlands and has never looked back since. In fact a lot of the band she uses for her show came from the "house band" used for the TV show. I'm sure you'll get some requests for some of those performances as well.

Floor originally covered it for the Dutch TV show Beste Zangers during their Eurovision coverage a couple of years ago.
She covered the song live from her home studio in the barn of her her little farm in Sweden. She had only just had surgery to remove her gallbladder (and 12 gallstones.) She absolutely crushed it.

Floor sung many great songs on the beste zangers ( Best singers ) show. There we're intruduced to other great singers like Henk. Also Floor recently brought out a more pop influenced solo album Paragon and brought out a rock project solo album Northward. Floor has performed with many other bands and groups like Epica and Ayreon to name a few.
I would like to recommend you to watch the whole concert, because here Floor sings fantastically pretty much every genre. Guest star at this show - Henk Poort!

I haven't had the privilege of commenting on one of your videos yet, why? Because I just now had the time to binge watch ALL your Nightwish reactions today! I actually watched your reaction to "Phantom of the Opera" on the other channel w/ your friend (actually I left a lengthy comment on there addressed to my fellow Americans...). I subbed today. Believe me when I say that even after all the videos you've done so far, it's still just scratching the surface lol, which means so much more to discover and the journey is FUN and EPIC let me tell ya!!!! Floor started in a Prog Metal band called After Forever which disbanded in 2009. She then formed a heavier metal band called ReVamp where she added more metal growling and harsh vocals. When Floor was filling in for Nightwish in September 2012 through the Wacken 2013 show she was still in ReVamp. (the following year ReVamp released Wild Card in 2014 and the year after Nightwish released their first CD w/ Floor on vocals in 2015 called "Endless Forms Most Beautiful") In 2016 Floor disbanded ReVamp and focused solely on Nightwish. In 2018 she released a side Rock project called Northward. In 2019 is when her solo career began to take shape.
PRIOR to Fall of 2019 Floor's home Country the Netherlands, in general, NEVER heard of Floor Jansen because they don't play metal on the radio there. So only if you were ALREADY a metal head you would've known her from After Forever, ReVamp and/or Nightwish. So, Netherlands = NO METAL. (generalizing) When Floor appeared on the show Beste Zangers in season 12 (No, not a competition, but a singing show where Dutch artists sing to each other when one of them sits on the couch for the whole episode, Floor's "couch" episode was ep4). When all the singers arrived for the show, the ONLY one who knew anything about her was Tim Akkerman who knew her from her time in After Forever. All everyone else knew was some "Metal" singer was going to be on the show. To make this SHORT, she blew everyone away INCLUDING audiences that were watching at their homes on tv. (Watch ALL 8 performances and you’ll be blown away!!!)
Floor NOW became known in the Netherlands, so much so that when she was contacted in late 2019 to book Solo shows she agreed and 9 shows were INSTANTLY sold out for the beginning of 2020!!! BECAUSE many were NEW fans from her time on the show Beste Zangers Floor carefully selected songs from her musical history that would SUIT the audience she was playing to. She said it was tricky to do it in a way where people wouldn't say it was "TOO hard" or "not hard ENOUGH". Floor added a 10th solo show to the list and started a crowd funder where fans around the world pitched in to have the show recorded and released in digital streaming platforms, money was also raised for a cool documentary of the show (which is released already on TH-cam). Unfortunately that show had to be delayed because of Covid 19 and lockdowns. FINALLY in September 2021 they were able to do the show and it was all recorded. The whole show is available to stream in 4K HD. The show opens w/ Nightwish’s “Ever Dream''. Other Nightwish songs performed were "Nemo", "Elan", "Decades in the Sun", “Slow Love Slow”; the other songs came from her previous bands After Forever, ReVamp, Northward project, songs performed on the Beste Zangers show and cover songs she has been releasing on her youtube channel since the pandemic started last year, ALL worth checking out!!! They will have a Rock "sauce" but it is NOT a metal show at ALL. She does 2 musical numbers including "Phantom of the Opera" and she does a cover of Lady Gaga's "Shallow" that she performed on Beste Zangers.

You should check out some of her live performances from her new (first) solo album that was released in March. There are a couple floating around the internet, such as Daydream and Me Without You. I think my favourite track is The Calm, although I don't think there are any professional quality recordings of that one (I could be wrong). Plenty of fan footage from her concerts though. (EDIT: there's the official audio of the song from her own youtube channel, but that's the studio version, rather than live).

Think about everything you know of Classical Music. The 1600's - 1700's, right? The Harpsichord was invented. Harps had been a thing for a LONG time, and even Lutes were coming into popularity along with Pianos. The Harpsichord is the next logical progression of the Harp as a Musical Instrument, is even more technical than the Piano and has its own very specific sound.
That sort of music was 'the contemporary thing', every 'cultured' person listened to it. Some became real snobs and shunned certain artists in favor of other artists.
Well, along come a couple of guys, a real smart-ass named Mozart (actually knew his stuff regardless of his own personal problems; a real prodigy) and Beethoven. Beethoven was actually The Wild Child of that scene, he was THE Rock-And-Roller of his time.
Rock (and so, Metal) has its roots in CLASSICAL MUSIC! The Metal genre is basically the next logical step in Musical Evolution from Rock, and Rock was the next logical evolution from Classical. This is how a Metal singer is also a Classically trained Operatic singer.
Floor is THE FIRST one to say, NO, she is NOT an Opera singer. Tarja is the same exact way, NO, she is NOT an Opera singer.
They both have qualities in their vocals that would have been useful in that role but Opera is far too strict; it limits artists in many ways and puts them in a box, it's HARD of the vocal chords so the Opera singers careers are notoriously short from burning themselves out... There are safer ways to do things and Metal Vocalists get it. Being classically trained is awesome...but it is not the be-all-end-all. It is a stepping-stone to bigger and better things. :)

Not totally unimportant; This concert was recorded at the time there where stil strickt rules ,due corona,so people had to sit down.People where very enthousiastic but due to the restrictions it sometimes looks a little bit off.😉

Metal is more demanding than pop. The pop band here had trouble playing the covers. They had to learn new things. From metal to pop it's easier. There are problems with the ballads, or as Floor put it: singing softly is more difficult than singing loudly.
