I know how you feel !! My dog and I were walking on a trail in the woods about 0630 in the morning and I found a man who had been murdered just before I got there. Saw the killers as I was pulling in as they were leaving.

Brett, love your videos. You have a nack for showing how beautiful the desert is. You have a nack for working in some western history, but best of all, I love hearing your personal stories. You're a great story teller an you let us into your life. It's kinda weird, even though we've never met I feel like we're friends. Thanks for dragging us around on your adventures Pal.

I found your channel a few days ago and I have been watching 2 or 3 videos a day. I can't get out like I used to, and you make it seem has if I'm with you. It's the closest thing I've found to being there. Not only that but I always explored the Sierra Nevada, so, watching your videos is like you're showing me your stomping grounds. Thank you so much for making these and taking me with you.

The square-eyed guys are supposedly a representation of Tlaloc, an Aztec deity. One of his aspects is a rain god. He is also often depicted with corn in the square-eye form (looks like an arm sometimes). There is a lot more in your general area. A LOT. Good vids.

Thanks for sharing your story about the person you found. Gives closure and he may not been found for much longer.
Like seeing the new pup out and about, this is a great location with the rock art and a spring! It amazes me how in such places water is accessible and provides life for those lucky enough to find it. I know the animals do but we humans can walk on by as you showed here.
I have been in this area when much younger with my uncle who was allowed access to private property and we were looking for art, treasure and history. It was 113 in summer and as a teenager who was very active and lived in the panhandle of TX this area sucked the air out of me. I found an old adobe partially standing cabin, Buffalo wallow and a spot od shade. Resting there I tried to imagine a life during those times, the hardships, the beauty of the desert, everything my teenager head could conjure. As I finished off my water, my uncle called from the sagebrush and rocks time to go.
I will never forget that day, the adventure, the ruins, the rock tools (we left as found) and we never found the Spanish gold rumored to be hidden there 😅😅😂 Be safe, keep sharing. And the new pup will learn fast, we are all hardheaded as pups 😊

I travel around the 6 western states and am amazed that the pioneers. It must have been really hard to bring the whole family across a thousand plus miles through prarie, deserts, and forests. Making traild and roads. Yet, with the perseverance to continue on. The mountainmen, westerners, and pioneers deserve great homage for their dreams and accomplishments. I'm not forgetting the native americans, I think they deserve homage for thousands of years of survival in this great land also.

From what i have seen elsewhere petroglyphs and pictroglyphs range from 800 to 1200 years ago on average. On another show you showed a petroglyph o-o-o and best of my knowledge that represents 3 years or a circle represents 1 year.
Thanks for your content. Your show is very entertaining and enjoyable.

    Brent another awesome video…🤙🏼 I always love story time I remember growing up that was one of my most favorite things to do set back keep my mouth shut and listen to all the old timers mainly my great uncle’s and aunts while they passed different instruments around playing some good country music telling stories such a great time….. This was a really great story but it was kinda sad also traumatic for you but Brent you got such a big heart and also such a kind soul so you can see and feel this one touched your heart in some type of way finding him like that!!! So respectful and just really nice that you made them a little memorial to come back to pay your respects… Hey brother some people wouldn’t make it very long by themselves one me being a only child I’m a introvert I love people but specifically the older I get the more I like to be by myself to many YAHOOS in this world my peace and quiet means so much more to me now…. Brent those petroglyphs are so freaking cool the farm I was raised on across the creek and up on this rocky hillside and nothing grew there but winter wheat it was a old Indian burial my mom and grandpa took me up there a couple times when I was really little cause my mother passed when I was 6 anyway I remember there was one big rock more rectangular than square but it had all kinds of different petroglyphs carvings even like it was chipped on it now that I think about it as a adult the way it was placed could’ve been a marker for that burial sight cause there was only one they did this too it wasn’t your normal doodling there was a lot of little markings all over that rock….. Hey Brent I want to thank you and tell you that you are so appreciated all the hard work you put into the content for your videos you also always go above and beyond to make your videos feel like you are actually there with you on these awesome wilderness adventures I got much respect for you my friend!!!!💯🤙🏼 { ONWARD AND UPWARDS }

Just subscribed. Maybe you are a long lost younger Brother of mine? I've got a few years on you but I have done much of the things you have done that now remind me of my younger days. Used to hunt elk around Reserve back when. My stomping grounds are in N. California though, Marble Mountain wilderness area. Many hounds and many horses in my time.

If you want to find petroglyphs I've got some advice. I live in Tucson AZ and go hiking frequently when weather permits. I have noticed rock art is always found near a water source and in a canyon or wash.

Been telling myself for years that we were going to haul the quads up there and ride around. Going to have to do it some day.

I always enjoy your stories. Don't have any regrets about not being a slave to your business. I used you with no complaints. I had my business but saw it was consuming me. I shut it down in 2018 and dod all the stuff I wanted to do. But now, a larger company bought out RMCI last October and gave me an offer I couldn't refuse to come over and take on a leadership role. Glad I did. They are organized and I'm happy there.
Never. Ever did I think that would happen though. You are happy now. Onward and Upward!

My guess: repetitive clan symbols, stone holes for grinding, and molding pemmican on a stick.

I’m 57 and best thing I’ve done in years is to go carnivore.
    More energy
    Lost weight
    Eat steaks all the time
Money spent on regular food is spent at the butcher or hunt your own. It’s bread I miss though. I have a piece of homemade every now and then…
    Best of luck

This areas canyon country is full of pretoglyphs as well. There was an Indian feller that came, spent time taking photos of ones in this area and others.... and wrote a book about them.
I hoped to decipher some, but wasn't much help for me.
Just did a search for the book, and didn't find it.
Name of the book was "When the Rocks Begin to Speak". Don't remember the authors name anymore? Might do a search for it?

If you have not read the book THE MULE ALTERNATIVE. You really should it’s all about how the mule settled the American frontier.
