Prime Minister Marape updates Papua New Guinea on vote-of-no-confidence

  • Prime Minister Hon. James Marape provided an update on the vote-of-no-confidence initiated by the Opposition following today's Parliament session. During the session, Prime Minister Marape presented a scorecard highlighting his government's achievements over the past five years in office.
    The Prime Minister was joined by key coalition partners, including Hon. William Duma of the United Resources Party, Hon. Powes Parkop of the Social Democratic Party, Hon. Richard Maru of the People's First Party, Hon. Walter Schnaubelt of the National Alliance, and Hon. Garry Juffa of the People's Movement for Change.
    Additionally, Pangu Pati leaders were in attendance: Deputy Leader and Deputy Prime Minister Hon. John Rosso, Hon. Soroi Eoe representing the Southern region, Hon. William Powi from the Highlands, Hon. Ian Ling-Stuckey of the New Guinea Islands, and Hon. Joe Sungi from the Momase region.
    Minister Maru emphasised the need for government stability to foster foreign investment. Governor Parkop urged the residents and businesses of the National Capital District to continue their daily activities without disruption.
