      A life hack so that the BGA paste does not spread under the stencil. Apply the amount of paste you need on a paper towel and heat it for 15-20 seconds with a hair dryer at 100 degrees Celsius so that the flux from the paste is absorbed into the towel. After you can apply the paste on the stencil.

    But I would probably avoid to cover heat-emiting ESP module with LiPo battery.

    To stop the burglar, make a device, which makes loud angry bark in the hallway, when he enters the room, so the burglar will lock himself inside to be safe from the beast :D

    Suggestion:
    Fish-Eye lenses up in the light that will send you pictures/video of people in your unit. You can then send that data to Law Enforcement to track down the burglars.
    While it may add a visible component to the security, you can probably put it in an inconspicuous place.

    If you had a way to lock the door on them once they are inside and the door closed... and keep it locked until you arrive with the police. That would be a non-lethal and no chances of hurting yourself or someone you didn't mean to hurt. Like change the internals of the door lock from a regular latch style setup to a dead bolt. You could use contact sensors to know when the door closes and then actuate the dead bolt lock inside the door. The knob on the inside would be useless until either the actuator trips/resets the dead bolt back or you unlock it from the outside.

      Even this could be illegal in some countries. In many ways, like holding someone in captivity even if it's a burglar or from building safety standards where it must be a emergency way out. Guess cameras are a reasonable way, but not as reliable.

    I had the same problem with false alarms because of the radar's range (and because it works 360° around). Thanks for the tip with the resistor.
    Regarding the problem with the components moving to the side of the pads, this looks to be a 2-fold problem. It looks you used a footprint for hand-soldering, these have longer pads. The regular pads are shorter such that the pads of the component are more or less centered on the pads on the PCB. Due to capillary forces, the component will now float to the center of the pads easier.
    But there is also an issue with the amount of soldering paste. The stencil should be firmly pressed on the PCB and you should try to apply the soldering paste in one stroke and then pull the stencil off without moving it left to right.
    Apply a large bead of paste on one side of the stencil and use a this steel spatula, press down firmly and strike from left to right in one fluid motion. If done perfectly, the stencil should be almost clean without streaks of paste on it. You can put unused soldering paste back in the container for next use.
    There are more ways of applying the paste but this is what seems to work best for us when doing this by hand. It is still not easy though. We have a machine to do this and that is still not doing it perfect all the time.

    • @EliteWorm
      @EliteWorm  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Question for anyone who does SMD soldering. How do you stop the solder paste getting on the tip of the needle nose tweezers used to place the part, then sticking the part to the tweezers, so when you pull up the tweezers, it doesn’t pull up or shift the part with them? Anyone else have this problem? I’m using quickchip solder paste. Maybe it’s about the viscosity of the paste?

      No, what you actually want is a two door entrance. They have to enter a restricted access area before entering your facility (fenced in area, greeting hallway etc), that will auto lock a door behind them upon tripping an alarm, then alerting the police. That way they are detained automatically in one process.

    • @sebastiannielsen
      @sebastiannielsen 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ChrisHillASMR Thats illegal here in Sweden and in most countries. Here in sweden not even jewellry stores are allowed to use mantraps, unless they always open the exit. Instead they have DNA spray with syntetic DNA to mark the robber to bind him to crime scene.

These receivers are mounted in an angle so there is a hole in the middle for a camera to look through and pointing away from the camera, something like this:
    \ | /
