I love this piece! I see a very stormy winter beach with waves breaking on the left, a few jutting rocks nearby and dune grass on the right. It’s moody but not dark.❣️❣️❣️

I'm always in awe of not only the pieces, but experimenting with it in the first place. I'm such a perfectionist and trying to learn watercolor hasn't been going as smoothly as I think it should. Let's just say I'm 0 and watercolor has won them all with a few knock out rounds to boot where I'm left dazed and confused and wondering how it went so wrong. 😂 Seriously though love this piece and wil be interested in trying it out. 😊Do you remember where you got the green mountain stamp? I think having something like that would really help me just to get started. I've seen lots of people slap some color in their sketchbooks so they don't have a blank page, but I literally can't bring myself to do it yet. 😂 This n might be the middle ground I need.
Watercolor takes some time to learn. Don’t get frustrated. For me it was learning to embrace it. It’s so different than acrylic or any other medium. Keep practicing. That does happen in my work. I’m never too precious with the layers. Sometimes they get covered up or scraped away. I’m more interested in how the layers interact and the final result. Thanks for commenting. 😍
Don't do this. That the absolute horror for true art that is supposed to stand up to time. Pertoleum Jelly is NOT archival. It will continue to seep through the paper for the next day or two till soaked through you will end up with horrible grease stains. I am shocked about all the poor and bad advice circulating here on you tube. Plesäase dont take lazy "short cuts" that will leave you frustrated at the end. Not to mention all the wasted expensive paint and watercolor paper.

We are all adults and can make art choices for ourselves. It always amazes me that the people who criticize others the most never put their own art on TH-cam to be openly critiqued by strangers. Interesting.
When I was taking a graphic art class in college, waaaay back in the Stone Age, I made a big splotch on a project. I tried to use chapstick to rub it off! I’m over here about to stroke out over the mere idea of ruining watercolor brushes like this! 💆🏼♀️ It’s not worth a “resist effect” when there’s other oil/grease-free options available🤦🏼♀️. Such as clear wax, or white/clear crayons, or even watered down frisket! Unless you’re using oil painting or acrylic brushes or whatever, or a disposable dollar store type brush, you should never expose watercolor brushes to oil or grease or petroleum products. And if you do? Or already have? It’s best not to paint with watercolors again without a good soak and extensive repeat cleansing with dawn dishwashing soap, and even after all that there’s no guarantee the brushes will ever recover. Not decent brushes anyway. Frankly it’s not worth the hassle, and whosever’s “good idea” it was to use Vaseline with watercolors? It’s clear they weren’t thinking about the long term effect on the brushes. Please don’t risk your good watercolor brushes on fad effects! Also, be sure to use watercolor sheets, not blocks, because the Vaseline could seep through. Wash your water containers and blotting or brush rags really well, too.

By scraping out with the color shape, you removed the finer marks of the vaseline print you made. 😢

The wax crayon always works. I want to experiment more with the stamping and the PJ. It dried just fine without any discoloration or stickyness. 😍
