How to Remove and Service the Power Seat of Audi A4 B8

Hello and welcome to Just Answer,
The only way to move the seat without the switch working is to apply 12v directly to the motor. You can access the wiring to the motor by lifting the front and back of the seat as high as they go. The two wires to the fore/aft motor come from the seat module bolted to the bottom of the seat. The one is brown/red and the other is black and red. They are both 1.5mm wires so they are fairly large. Just apply 12v to the one wire and ground to the other and the motor will move, switch the wires to change the direction of the motor. Well that sounds nice, but there is a 3rd wire going to the seat motor that moves the seat back and forth. You were correct in the two wires that are power. The smaller wire is orange and black? It was kind of dark but looks like that was the color. It was a very small "control" wire if you will. I put power on those two wires and get nothing. I know it has to do with that third wire going to the convenience module or somewhere to ground or power a control circuit. The seat will not move doing what you said. I tried it. I have no problem paying you friend, I need this car fixed and the dealer will extort me for money. But I need some more helpful information. I assume I will have to remove that seat to get to the central convenience module which I know is bad. I used VCSD and that module will not talk to me. Help me get that seat out, tell me where the convenience module is and just baby me through this thing and I will pay you more than 15.00 dollars, you have my word. I will pay you that for each problem you help me overcome. I see about 4 or 5 problems here because the top doesn't come down, and keyless entry not working on top of seats and windows not going up..all stuck down. If we can replace one thing at a time and further diagnose with VCSD you can get paid at each step. Lets roll, now how is that third wire preventing motor from working on seat? I know its not the motor because the passenger seat has exact same issue. thanks bud.
