What’s a mistake you think too many streamers make that cost them money?
I went back to cable. All these streaming services was hard to keep up with. Mistake I made was duplication of content. A lot of the shows on Hulu were also on TH-cam TV. Im a huge basketball, and football fan. Also like Baseball and Hockey and NASCAR
We cut the cord because 30% of the cable bill was going towards taxes & rental fees.
I could easily get rid of cable but I have a wife and son that DVR the snot out of TV. I could just about live with TH-cam and Tubi. I do subscribe to several streaming services which I add and cancel all the time depending upon what shows I want to watch. I figured that trick out a long time ago
Great information ❤
I always have and always will include the cost of internet.
If I just want/need internet, I use my phone. It will always be included in my streaming budget.
Just a couple of years ago there was a web channel that offered a surprisingly amount of cable channels for free including commercials.. It eventually disappeared probably because of law suits
Yep, it depends on the type of platform and if it was legit or not. Locast was sadly shut down because of lawsuits and it was a fantastic resource.
Giving a live TV streaming service is basically getting a different version of cable. The cost is starting to reflect that I love when people say oh I got rid of cable but then they tell me they have fubo tv or something like that that’s why you’re really not saving any money
Whether you're saving money or not really depends on how MUCH you were paying for cable before you switched.
For many people, the lack of having to subscribe to a long term contract is a major deciding factor.
I think a lot of people don’t try an antenna, assuming it won’t work at all, or that the video quality will be poor.
Yep, we see a lot of that. There's also misbelief that you need to be tech wiz to connect one. It's not that difficult, in many cases.
I'd love to be able to go OTA with an antenna. Alas where I live there is no good signal.
Do you watch much beyond locals? If not, could combining a couple of the network platforms work for you?
I have one credit card where I put all my streaming charges so I know how much I'm spending each month so I don't go overboard. I also include the cost of my home internet and look to keep the total cost below what I was paying for just cable.
That's a great way to do it!
I use Tablo next gen and an antenna for over the air and can record and watch when I want.
Do you have any low cost live TV streaming like Sling, Philo or Frndly? If so, don’t you need to switch back and forth between the Tablo app and that live service to easily channel surf?
I want to get a Tablo, but the AirTV integration with Sling maybe better/easier for other family members. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
I stream free Amazon and Roku programs and Tablo. I only have Apple Plus and Netflix through my T-Mobile which is no cost to me since I am a T-Mobile customer. I also get MLB free through T-Mobile. I have tried AirTv and it kept crashing. Tablo 3rd generation I believe is much better and more stable.
What is the best budget NHL streaming service? Thanks in advance!
Currently TH-cam tv costs me $82.45 and Xfinity unlimited 300 down costs $41.56.
That's $124.01 (including tax), which is still about $81.00 less than the $204.00 I was paying for cable and internet bundled.
My live tv budget is $100.00, so I'm still under that.
Though it's less savings than when I started streaming, I still consider it a somewhat good deal.
I haven't reached my breaking point yet, but it keeps getting closer. 🤬
Agreed, that is still a relatively decent savings. Things can easily get that way, especially when you consider the further spreading out of live sports. The writing has been on the wall, for some time, that it's only going to continue to go that way, unfortunately.
Right now I have been paying for peacock and watching the Roku channel as the NBA channel is great. Wonder if they will get a free WWE channel that will show classic ppvs and press conferences after ppvs. The peacock WWE channel is a disappointment as it mostly shows modern stuff
We're not big wrestling fans, but have heard similar complaints from other fans. That said, going with Roku and Peacock is a pretty low-cost streaming option. 🙂
@@FrugalRules surprised sling free stream hasn't gotten all the 4 major sports free streaming channels yet. Put those along with that 10 hour DVR, and their decent on demand library for free and they would be pretty solid.
@@wootage8434 That would be a nice add!
I cant get good reception where i am. Sigh.
