@@YUhave2Bawsome Well, I'd say an Elven HoF could be given a more substantial role in Kirkwall, particularly if said elven HoF happened to be from Clan Lavellan (same clan as the elf Inquisitor in Inquisition) If Clan Lavellan's still alive and is now governing Wycom, then I'd be thinking that HoF (who could be alive and Had just finished his hunt of the cure for the calling) would be a liason for Wycom in their alliance with Kirkwall (as if you're an elf inquisitor and Clan Lavellan's alive and well, Varric would note that both Wycom and Kirkwall would be in an alliance thanks to him)
It isn't much of a "mystery for the ages" though. Personal bisases aside, Varric is objectively a very sensible choice. He has plenty of connections and experience and doesn't crack easily under pressure or become power-hungry. He isn't squeaky-clean morally, but as far as politicians go, he's a freaking saint in comparison. Alternarively, he was just "kicked upstairs" by the nobility to keep him busy with logistics while they scheme and steal everything and when things go to shit they can point fingers at him. Either way, good one Bioware.

the reason he's largely ignored is due to him being a dlc party member a.k.a not a member of the vanilla party group so Bioware concentrated on the main party members and just kinda added Sebastien in last minutte, pretty hilarious watching him having his little hissy-fit after the Chantry goes kaboom and nobody cares, lol. I mean when Sebastien threatens to bring his army on Kirkwall to kill Anders if u spare him you'd think thats something Aveline would be all like "whoa! just stop right there, rich boy"

The best Viscount Kirkwall ever had. lol. Also, this really shows that Varric takes care of his friends. He knows it's possible for the Council to go badly for the Inquisition, so he already planned ahead to secure a way out for the Inquisitor.

i look at more like women rulers in the Middle Ages or most pre modern society yeah it nearly impossible for them to get that high but only nearly so someone would get every now and then.so why not a dwarf who's known all over the the known world and is a good businessman along with helped save the city 4 times and help save the whole world once and he is extremely likable. he's not to unlikely if you think about it.

DA2 is two years later (Act 1 is the first year, Act 2 starts at the end of the blight, Act 3 is one year later), Inquisition is 10 years later, and Trespasser is 2 years later for a total of 14 years. Which isn't much much later, but *jesus christ* it looks like he is on drugs.
He does also say that he made a written deceleration that Kirkwall is allies to the elf led Wycome(that is if your an elf and made the right choices on the wartable mission). Speak with him 2 more minutes and he would probably given Quizzy his crown and declared Quizzy the new Viscount of Kirkwall at the spot(Bran would die out of a heart attack on the spot aswell)
Just finished the DLC, and holy hell it was everything I hoped for!!! Answered a LOT of questions bout the lore, and offered plenty of fun combat. And as for the ending...well, won't spoil anything but I'd say another Dragon Age game in the future is a STRONG possibility. "We will save our friend, if we can."-Inquisitor
