Richard Ashcroft recorded some amazing work. I really lived for some of his early solo stuff, "On a Beach", "The Lovers", and things he recorded with his band and artists like this. His voice is so mellow and relaxes me.
I love how The Chemical Brothers tried to tell a story with the video to their songs. Always get goosebumps the moment the girl is suddenly surrounded by people dancing around her just after a house almost fell on top of her and Richard singing "My heart and soul, they are free" combined with the elevated music. This is pure art.

I heard this whole album when I was 8 years old, it was one of my uncle's CDs. He told me: he closes his eyes and enjoys the music as if you were off the planet. And so it was, today at 29 years old I enjoy these classics and they fill my soul! 2023 and keep smashing this track! Grande Chemical Brothers, from Peru!
Transcendental. The drums, the vibe, the creepy atmosphere, that IMMENSE drop/chorus with Ashcroft's magnificent voice over it...I was about 11-12 when this came out and the video creeped me out, but the music, the music spoke to me. I cried with joy hearing it again about 4-5 years ago randomly after so long.
@UserNo84 yeah hahah found this pretty funny because of that, 2000s kid here who has every chemical brothers song ingrained in their mind because dad used to love em

Absolute beauty of a song and video. Honestly, it gives me Goosebumps to this day everytime I listen and watch it. Tried to share it with friends/family before, they didn't "get it". But I do and it's my "go to" song that makes me feel better. Xxxx
Came back to the Chemicals tonight. Watched some 90s classics on full volume. Started to cry... they are all so great... immersive, epic psychedelic. Incredible.
The opening reminds me of Dead can Dance, I honestly can not get enough of this song. I used to listen to The Verve endlessly back in the 90's. I thought they were a very underrated band and I even bought their sheet music for guitar. Richard is an excellent song writer. I love that The chemical Brothers collaborated with him. This is the coolest treat!!! Also The chemical brothers make the coolest videos!!!!
A aasterpiece is the improvisation on moog of Czeslaw Niemen. They asked him to use his improvisations from the song The pilgrim, from the LP Niemen Aerolit (1974).

I love this song and video ♥ .... It is very mystical. The blonde girl reminds me of myself when I was a teenager: dreamy, introspective, slightly autistic, and looking for the deeper meaning of life, I avoided society. Was often alone for me
I've always been fascinated by synaesthesia and I *love* this era of their music videos for testing the bridge between sound and vision. Some examples are obvious (Star Guitar) or the flashing jellyfish in this video. But some are beautifully for their subtlety, eg the flock of birds at 2:32 is definitely synced to the white noise pulses in the audio. Maybe I'm just wired a bit wrong, but it's very satisfying :)
If you’re wired a bit wrong, then I am too (and this is not only possible, but probable), and I love that shit too. The Star Guitar video puts me in a trance.
Man i remember being 12 years old and catching this video on MTV was sooo good, it was a turning point in what you could acomplish with a video clip. And The Chemical Brothers were always so good doing videos! Of course first of all its an epic song!!
Uma viagem!!! Regresso até 2002 ano de lançamento do álbum "Come with us". Esse clipe sempre foi o meu favorito. E ainda tem o Richard Ashcroft no vocal. Bom demais!
“My heart and my soul- they are free.” I was 15 when this came out. I remember seeing it on MTV2 after school. My boyfriend at the time was really into hallucinogenics, but I preferred to stay clean as a whistle, for no other reason than I was too scared to experience my brain in an altered state. However, when I saw this, despite it being a love song to lysurgic acid, I vividly remember telling myself that one day, when I’m ready, I must experience 🍄’s. 16 years later, I tried it, and my heart and my soul? They are finally free. I’m now a mini-cosmonaut at 36 as I was a bit of a late bloomer, but I can’t stress enough the psychological and spiritual benefits of most hallucinogens, namely psilocybin and LSD. Ahead of their time…this song and video are timelessly unforgettable. ❤️ Love and light to anybody who read this way too long anecdotal TH-cam comment, LOL
I tried it once. The alphabet turned into Hangul and it became too laborious to read. I played a Tarkov run up close on a big OLED screen and it was much like being inside. Then I thought really hard about a lot of things, which is what I do anyway. Heart and soul were not freed.
Work of the finest art. The best Chemical Brothers' piece imho. Wonder what classical composers like Wagner or Tschaikovsky would say about it if they hear it.
I have listened to the song about 15 times is a row. I was too old with a job to have heard this when it first came around. Now I cannot get enough of the Chemical Brothers.
Belly of the whale, chaos, waves breaking front of horizons, stepping through the devil's door. Jordan Peterson could do a three hour lecture on this 😂 Top notch stuff.
I love to see, how many people feels the same way i do about The Chemical Brothers and it's really nice to read you people, you're not annoying at all, and from my say thats outstanding when it comes to music today. Peace.
One of the absolutely best Chems, and songs itself ever, so packed with emotions, also as a polish dude i'm proud of sampling the Czesław Niemen's - Pielgrzym

the test is favorite track from "come with us" and as a kid I used to repeat this song over and over again on my old Walkman... Those were the days....
What I love about this (and many Chemical Bros videos) is the _synaesthesia:_ the video is subtly, but perfectly in sync with the audio. Some examples: notice the video at 2:16, she not only lands on the ground precisely on the drum beat, but the video pulses as if shaken by her weight. There's the jellyfish at 1:35 glowing in time with the music. At 5:18, the video is reversed, reinforcing the song's reverse audio effect at precisely that moment. I can't count how many perfect pairings there are in this video, but maybe with other people's help, we can find them all. Reply below.
@@manujulia5949 Yes, I don't know what to call it, but yes! 3:59 The Buster Keaton house facade with the phased white noise, landing perfectly around our unfazed protaganist, as the bass drum booms and the chorus comes in.
Que temazoooo y que video, que se que se vayan a la mierda los videoclips de ahora, esto es algo a lo que ninguno de los cantantes d hoy se merece hacerle.

You wouldn't believe
What I've been through
Aún sigo escuchando éste tema y se me acelera el corazón
good sign!
Uma viagem!!! Regresso até 2002 ano de lançamento do álbum "Come with us". Esse clipe sempre foi o meu favorito. E ainda tem o Richard Ashcroft no vocal. Bom demais!
Ive never tried acid but lve loved that tune and video since first time seeing it back in 2k4
Listening on my first day in 2021
“my heart and my soul they r free”
peace and well being my sister
2021?theVerve?chemical brothers?
Three years sober, great birthday song.
Richard Ashcroft is a genius!
Can't understand why when I was a kid never noticed the great piece of art in this song
when i was little i notice good music and nice girl and trippy videoclip :D
Ashcroft just makes this top tune even better yeeessssahhhh
I was a late bloomer too!
I tried it once. The alphabet turned into Hangul and it became too laborious to read. I played a Tarkov run up close on a big OLED screen and it was much like being inside. Then I thought really hard about a lot of things, which is what I do anyway. Heart and soul were not freed.
I remember when a Parking-Lot looked kewl... But, that was a Collage. 😅
Psychedelics are liiiife
So you're a drug addict? Yep, your "heart and soul" are certainly free... nothing like addiction to make someone free.
All-time favorite song/video combo. Hands down. AMAZING music.
Work of the finest art. The best Chemical Brothers' piece imho. Wonder what classical composers like Wagner or Tschaikovsky would say about it if they hear it.
when i first discovered this song, i couldn't listen anything else for weeks. very powerful song combined with an amazing video.
I have listened to the song about 15 times is a row. I was too old with a job to have heard this when it first came around. Now I cannot get enough of the Chemical Brothers.
when i listen this song i listen this like a fractal. it's an evidence....
So beautyful
Best track ,, real talent of Richard + Ch.Brothers --
La mejor canción del mundo!!
Its 2023 & this tune still smashes it for me 👍
This is one of those timeless songs
Incredible and wonderful. It's definitely one of my favorite videos of all time. Sweet, Pure, and True.❤
Belly of the whale, chaos, waves breaking front of horizons, stepping through the devil's door. Jordan Peterson could do a three hour lecture on this 😂
Top notch stuff.
2020!!! 🎧🎵🎶 ¡¡¡Viva la Música Electrónica!!! 🎧🎵🎶
Con ese tema he ido a muchos planos espirituales amigo
@@Naturalblue1 Es un Tema, directo a tus Sentidos. Saludos!!!
the test is favorite track from "come with us" and as a kid I used to repeat this song over and over again on my old Walkman...
Those were the days....
Hands down the best musoc video of all time
Richard Ashcroft is a genius!
This part too 4:06
1:58-2:04 the framing changes with each string note
@@baglio88 I hadn't noticed that! It just fit so perfectly.
@@manujulia5949 Yes, I don't know what to call it, but yes! 3:59 The Buster Keaton house facade with the phased white noise, landing perfectly around our unfazed protaganist, as the bass drum booms and the chorus comes in.
love the himalayan throat singing at the start, project two frequencies, timeless
мне 38 , и для меня это классика электронной музыки ! до сих пор мурашки от прослушивания ...
