Hi! thank you very much for your comment, although there are several steps with different products I consider it for beginners as none of the steps are difficult, they really can be learnt very quickly even by someone who is just starting out, they will get good results easily making the process less frustrating.
@@JOSEDAVINCI_I would say this is absolutely beginner-friendly. It’s all simple, repeatable steps. It also looks so good it has me sitting down at my desk tonight to paint a mini without an airbrush for the first time in about 15 years.
This is absolutely not a beginner method. Maybe if you'd used acrylic contrast/speed paints, but using enamels and thinners, and about 20 different products... Sorry bro, it's an amazing method, but this is intermediate to advanced. I've been painting for 5 years and this way beyond my knowledge and ability.
@@underzepump2905 Hi, Merry Christmas dude, I believe that the number of materials does not determine the level of the process, I can paint a miniature at a professional level with only 5 colours and a brush. In my opinion the level is determined by the difficulty of the technique, this miniature is washes and dry brush, two of the easiest techniques to learn. Even a good base coat and a good outline is much more difficult than this. It probably won't come out right the first time for a beginner, but it is a process that can be learned with a few tries. I think it's an interesting debate, thanks for commenting 🤗.
@@JOSEDAVINCI_ I think a lot of people underestimate the beginner-level painter these days. Especially ones that are inclined to watch TH-cam videos to learn. I believe the point here is that none of these steps are difficult. It's not like the loaded brush technique, hours of glazing, airbrush work, OSL stuff, it's essentially just easy, repeatable brush work. The streaking grime is my favorite. I have been using that step as a last touch on my SM's for a while now, after I stopped believing that all SM's needed to look pristine haha.
40 years ago I spent hours painting fantasy miniatures. My eyes aren't young anymore but this makes me want a go at it again. Love the dry brushing technique with a sponge. I destroyed so many brushes long ago.
I got back into painting after many years. My eyes aren’t as sharp as they were. Last night I started using a magnifying glass. My hands quickly got used to it and it was, truly, a nice addition. I can see again. Haha
really enjoyed this video because you showed some techniques i have personally never seen before. The wash in the start and the sponge away, if you stopped right there with after the dry brush with white, you'd have the perfect base to finish the model with white armor.
Your videos are so awesome and inspiring. Thank you for taking the time to make these! I just found your channel. Never seen that shade and removal technique in the beginning of the video before. Every other channel I have seen they just go over the drybrushing, but your way of doing it seems to be much better solution.
love the paint job. small point though, astartes armor is made of ceramite so it wouldnt rust.also no soldier would allow his weapon to rust. it would affect the action and likely get him killed!
Lookes great a little guidence in text or speech would be very nice. Do you use varnish bettween acrylics and oiles? Did blive that oile wash would reactivate the acryl pickment?
Wow. Loved the format of this video. Also timely video. I am receiving my DA xmas box. I was wanting to make actual grim dark space marines. Not super clean space marines.
Hi, love your videos and tutorials. I really like that you show the entire process along with using brush on palette and loadiblng the paint. I have a question, why does paint on your palette behaves like that in 6:08? I mean gold and blue, I use the army painter one and paint stays more on the surface, is it waxed paper? Does it have any effect on painting? Thanks in advance for answer😀

It's nice to see a space marine who is going to war and not always armor that looks like it came out of the factory. Very nice work !
Although the mini is fantastic, there are so many different stages and products used in this tutorial, that it makes it not really beginner friendly

I swear by AK primers. Especially rattlecan grey & black primer. My go to for just about everything.

What’s the first song name please 😊
Smart way of doing it with the sponge and thinners. If the sponge doesn't fit, not worth the effort to highlight.
Impressive!
