I tried to do the update and it crashed my controller and now when I turn it on it just says Device is Starting... and won't go past that. I had my drone on and was able to control the tilt with the slider on the top of the controller. I downloaded DJI Assistant 2 and updated the firmware on there twice and still just says it's starting. Do you know what I can do?
@@AndrewSOlis-nz5fu I had to turn my controller on and swipe down to get into the system setting where you can turn down the brightness and volume, go into setting and did a factory reset. That worked for me

Just updated my Air 3 firmware to 01.00.1400 and the controller to 02.02.0200. Max altitude was 1000 m (Germany) before the update, now it´s just 500 m.
This may seem like a really unusual idea for a future firmware update. But I'd like to see a video editor that uploads videos directly to TH-cam and TikTok from the RC2 controller
No wonder DJI is having a current sale price point on the Air 3?...there are rumors for the potential DJI Air 3S/4?..maybe in August annoucnement according to some leaked photos and rumors..lol me personally all I want is an Air 3 model or whatever they will call it..with a variable aperture..gladly pay an extra price point for that feature!..lol

Why does everything need updating if it's working fine? I just think that updates eventually render hardware unusable? Windows 11 and hardware in PCs and laptops comes to mind.
On Mini 4 Pro, I think one can MANUALLY update the “Home Point” at any time to be the current location of controller, but is there a way to have RTH continuously update home point to be the location of RC controller?

Trying to figure out how to set up a like small mesh network with sdr to get more range without modifing the drone or remote...... Lag would increase, but should be able to get as much range as your battery will allow and it wouldn't be modified in any of the hardware so plausible deniability or something like that you know wink wink

For the 4G modem, are there really many places in the UK where the normal RC transmission is insufficient, whilst maintaining VLOS? I'm guessing this 4G option is aimed at operators with special permission to fly beyond VLOS, or possibly countries without VLOS regs, if such exist. I honestly can't see you or I having a legal use for it any time soon.
Have you still got the air 2s because it seems since the last update for it they've stopped the quick transfer but on their website it still says it's compatible four quick transfer🤔🤔 DJI need to sort there 💩💩out.

Just did the update and noticed the green position lights go off the minute you hit record. Not a biggy but was shooting a night scene and all I had was my strobe light.
@@Andyk10101hey Andy, there is no aircraft LED’s per se to switch on, there is Auxiliary LED which is the light on the bottom of the drone used for landing. That I have set to Auto, and works just fine.
Hi I download the new update my app is glitching on the DJI rc2 it's like few frames and then it catches signal again. and in waypoint it adds like another mission even though I didn't do it . And it gets VERY VERY hot
I'm not sure if it's a coincidence but with the new update I am able to go at least 2000 feet farther in the city then I was able to get with any other update… Not sure if conditions were just right but I think they might've boosted up or fixed transmission power somehow

After the last update my AIR 3 has been slight glitchy, like when Im zooming out from 3x to 1x it started catching around 1.8 sometimes & would look like a stutter.. also when panning from side to side sometimes it would kinda glitch. This only started happening after I updated tbe firmware like 12 days ago. I just updated the firmware to this new version today & hopefully this fixes those glitches.

I bought the Air 3 last week and unfortunately discovered during my first few flights that the obstacle avoidance sometimes didn't work at all or didn't work properly. I was also in normal mode sometimes but the drone behaved like it was in sport mode. Any ideas why this could be? Great video as always!
Hi there, we apologize for the inconvenience caused. These is how the obstacle avoidance works for DJI Air 3. -After enabling "Flight Assistance" -> "Bypass", the aircraft will automatically change and plan a new flight path to bypass the obstacle if it detects an obstacle. If the obstacle cannot be bypassed, the aircraft will hover in place. -After enabling "Flight Assistance" -> "Brake", the aircraft will brake and hover in place if it detects an obstacle. -After disabling "Flight Assistance", all obstacle avoidance actions will not be triggered when detecting an obstacle, and the aircraft will respond to the user's control stick input. In this case, it is possible that an accident may occur. I hope this helps with your concern. Thank you for your support and have a nice day.
@@DJISupportGlobal hi there, I had set the drone to brake, but I was able to steer it towards a wall without any problems. The bigger problem was that I was in normal mode and the drone was somehow still in sport mode or behaved like that. However, I flew it again the next day and the problems were no longer there. I hope it doesn't happen again because I obviously want to rely on it without having to test every time to see if everything is working as it should.

@@DJISupportGlobal The switch on the rc was on normal mode(it also said „n normal mode“ on the screen) and the drone flew like in sports mode, extremely fast and agile. Even when I switched to cine-slow nothing changed. I flew in the evening but it wasnt really low light, around sunset but more then bright enough in my opinion. Thanks for your answer!
WARNING****** Yesterday I updated two RC2 controllers to 1.13.8. Now NEITHER of them will allow me to create/save/reopen waypoints created using 1.13.8.
Kudos to DJI for taking only two days to fix the waypoint bug they introduced in 1.13.8 . The 1.13.9 update fixed the waypoint issues in RC2 for both my Mini 4 Pro and Air3
@DMProductions Thanks for the update, Darren! Especially when it comes to checking the Obstacle Avoidance Action settings after the update. It probably would be best to do this after EVERY update. Hope things can settle here in the U.S. This whole potential DJI ban is nuts!! 🥜🌰🥥

Thanks for the video but the update doesn't appear for me it always says fw is up to date which is not the case. I also tried with the DJI assistant on the Mac and I'm only offered the 0500 and not the 0600 and fly 1.135 and not 13.8 does anyone have an idea?
Regarding the 'enhanced transmission.' For this to work correctly from my understanding you would actually need *two* different dongles. One in the controller, which is the one pictured in your video, and one on the drone itself. The controller one will work as is to connect your controller to a cellular data network for maps, etc, but your connection/signal to the drone doesn't change. If you have the drone dongle *too* and, the necessary dji subscription along with your mobile/cellular data plan and sims for both (and only if you're in mainland China at the moment) then you'd be able to control the drone from your controller through the cell network to your drone. I hope we see this in other countries soon. It'd help with connection issues in built up areas for better range.
I think that the dongle is intended to fit in the drone. You then connect your controller to your phone hiding your phones 'mobile hotspot'facility. When you get signal dropout between the drone and the controller the 4g connection takes over. I could be wrong but I cannot think of any other possible scenario.b

Time 08:34, Vision Positioning and O S... Turning that off, "parking" the drone in the air, bringing the hand under it, downwards make "hand catching" very easy. Don't grab the drone until the props have stopped.
I’ve update my RC2 controller on my mini 4 pro to 1.13.8 but the RC2 of my Air 3 will only update to 1.13.5 . I’ve tried updating with the DJI Assistant . Any ideas ?
Thanks for the info. It seems DJI has now pushed out app version 1.13.9 - so that's changed form 1.13.8 in the last few hours. Have noticed that the 1000m height restriction has been reduced to 500m - not sure if this a country specific change or if it applies globally. No crashing on my controller but it was plugged in to an external power source at the time of the update ..... who knows, maybe that makes a difference? Everything else appears to be "normal" so far.

I just did this update on my mini 4 pro And RC2 controller and it created a problem that I never had before. When I open waypoints and select a flight path that I had already created, it immediately goes to a black screen and bumps me out of the waypoint function. Now, I'm hesitant to even fly the thing for fear of a malfunction in flight. Any suggestions?
Yesterday I updated both my RC2 controllers to 1.13.8. I now have the identical issue you mentioned - on both controllers. Contacted DJI tech support. Would not hurt to have more people rattle their cage on this issue so it can get fixed!!
Update, After posting I tried again, both are now available. 21:40 CST June 29 2024 842.73MB The drone is V01.00.0600 - 378.22MB and the RC 2 is V02.02.0200 - 464.51MB Again mine will NOT update without going to the profile route, nothing auto. And even then it still wont update the drone itself at all. What it did do however was return the slow load up time of the previous version of the RC2 and i often cannot switch back from video to photo mode now with the buttons. Laggy as heck...
just got the dongle 2 installed and only red no service light showing, because no sim installed, got a sim coming in a few days, do you need to have data available on the sim ? or will DJIs free first year of enhanced connection take care of that ?.

update: just got a free three sim, no data or minutes etc, put it straight from the packet into the Dongle 2 and have been flying around with full 4g ground and aerial service

Hi Darren what is mind blowing me, all the different software plugins like artlist and motion ray and with your luts which software are they all compatible with and Which one do you recommend? Cyberlink Powerdirector Final Cut Pro, VN, Adobe Premier Pro or DaVinci Resolve, Luma Fusion.
@@BTDecorating hey premier pro, DaVinci resolve and Final Cut Pro are the best and industry standard with the plugins and luts working on all of them. DaVinci is free and fcp has a free trial. All the mobile apps are good but the process takes longer.

I don't suppose you have any idea about battery life compromises if and when using the dongle? If you are flying and never get low on RC to drone connection will you still lose some battery life as theoretically the dongle will not be in use during any part of the flight? Do you use your phones mobile hotspot to establish the 4g connection between drone / dongle and controller? Sorry for the daft questions 😮
@@w.e.s.If that is correct then I want one. The thing is though I read that a 'standard' flight of approximately 30 minutes that consumed 1 battery will require approximately 1gb of data. If that is the case then using 1gb obviously requires power over and above what is normally used on a flight. Nobody at DGI seems able or willing to commit to an answer about how much extra battery is consumed.
prob not, bec an update on mini3p cd ruin the sales of the mini4p... economicly common sense. maybe u wait until the mini5p comes out to buy this one. im happy with my 4p but kept the 3p as reserve drone with max alt 500m.
I think aside from bug fixes they won’t offer anything new to the mini 3 pro, it’s an awesome drone and still is but doesn’t make business sense to give it new features when the 4 is out unfortunately

🚨 DJI FLY has been updated overnight from 1.13.8 to 1.13.9 - the new features are exactly the same as 1.13.8. This was just a bug fix 🚨
.9 also removes the Sync Logs option for us in the United States.

@jsauerii I pretty muched stopped flying my Mini 4 pro, & mostly I've been flying my AIR 3 because of that bucking under acceleration.

Short Update: My drone can still fly up to a 1.000 m. The 500 m limit was due to a restricted area.

Theses new dji drones shot 4k in a different code then any tv or computer I have so I can't watch my avata 2 4k footage all my other drones I can.

Under settings, Safety, Aircraft LEDs select on. In Auto mode turns off front led's when recording or taking pictures.

Hi there, we apologize for the inconvenience caused. These is how the obstacle avoidance works for DJI Air 3.
-After enabling "Flight Assistance" -> "Bypass", the aircraft will automatically change and plan a new flight path to bypass the obstacle if it detects an obstacle. If the obstacle cannot be bypassed, the aircraft will hover in place.
-After enabling "Flight Assistance" -> "Brake", the aircraft will brake and hover in place if it detects an obstacle.
-After disabling "Flight Assistance", all obstacle avoidance actions will not be triggered when detecting an obstacle, and the aircraft will respond to the user's control stick input. In this case, it is possible that an accident may occur.

@@DJISupportGlobal hi there, I had set the drone to brake, but I was able to steer it towards a wall without any problems. The bigger problem was that I was in normal mode and the drone was somehow still in sport mode or behaved like that. However, I flew it again the next day and the problems were no longer there. I hope it doesn't happen again because I obviously want to rely on it without having to test every time to see if everything is working as it should.
@@friedrichhienz2738 I appreciate your response. Can I just confirm that although you are in normal mode but app shows in sport mode? Also, do you fly in low-light situations? I'm glad that the issue has not recurred.
@@DJISupportGlobal The switch on the rc was on normal mode(it also said „n normal mode“ on the screen) and the drone flew like in sports mode, extremely fast and agile. Even when I switched to cine-slow nothing changed.
I flew in the evening but it wasnt really low light, around sunset but more then bright enough in my opinion. Thanks for your answer!
WARNING****** Yesterday I updated two RC2 controllers to 1.13.8. Now NEITHER of them will allow me to create/save/reopen waypoints created using 1.13.8.
Kudos to DJI for taking only two days to fix the waypoint bug they introduced in 1.13.8 . The 1.13.9 update fixed the waypoint issues in RC2 for both my Mini 4 Pro and Air3

@DMProductions Thanks for the update, Darren! Especially when it comes to checking the Obstacle Avoidance Action settings after the update. It probably would be best to do this after EVERY update. Hope things can settle here in the U.S. This whole potential DJI ban is nuts!! 🥜🌰🥥
I just bought my brand new Air 3 yesterday. I did all the firmware updates for the controller and each battery last night and right after I finished doing that I got prompted to do another update lol

Thanks for the video but the update doesn't appear for me it always says fw is up to date which is not the case. I also tried with the DJI assistant on the Mac and I'm only offered the 0500 and not the 0600 and fly 1.135 and not 13.8 does anyone have an idea?

left lower corner, 3 options. MAP, COMPASS and b/wCAM. just wipe btw them.
Regarding the 'enhanced transmission.' For this to work correctly from my understanding you would actually need *two* different dongles. One in the controller, which is the one pictured in your video, and one on the drone itself. The controller one will work as is to connect your controller to a cellular data network for maps, etc, but your connection/signal to the drone doesn't change. If you have the drone dongle *too* and, the necessary dji subscription along with your mobile/cellular data plan and sims for both (and only if you're in mainland China at the moment) then you'd be able to control the drone from your controller through the cell network to your drone. I hope we see this in other countries soon. It'd help with connection issues in built up areas for better range.
I think that the dongle is intended to fit in the drone. You then connect your controller to your phone hiding your phones 'mobile hotspot'facility. When you get signal dropout between the drone and the controller the 4g connection takes over. I could be wrong but I cannot think of any other possible scenario.b

Time 08:34, Vision Positioning and O S... Turning that off, "parking" the drone in the air, bringing the hand under it, downwards make "hand catching" very easy. Don't grab the drone until the props have stopped.
You could just turn the Obstacle sensors off and do the same thing for a hand landing

I’ve update my RC2 controller on my mini 4 pro to 1.13.8 but the RC2 of my Air 3 will only update to 1.13.5 . I’ve tried updating with the DJI Assistant . Any ideas ?

Thanks for the info. It seems DJI has now pushed out app version 1.13.9 - so that's changed form 1.13.8 in the last few hours.
Have noticed that the 1000m height restriction has been reduced to 500m - not sure if this a country specific change or if it applies globally.
No crashing on my controller but it was plugged in to an external power source at the time of the update ..... who knows, maybe that makes a difference?
Everything else appears to be "normal" so far.

I just did this update on my mini 4 pro And RC2 controller and it created a problem that I never had before. When I open waypoints and select a flight path that I had already created, it immediately goes to a black screen and bumps me out of the waypoint function. Now, I'm hesitant to even fly the thing for fear of a malfunction in flight.
Any suggestions?
Yesterday I updated both my RC2 controllers to 1.13.8. I now have the identical issue you mentioned - on both controllers. Contacted DJI tech support. Would not hurt to have more people rattle their cage on this issue so it can get fixed!!

Again mine will NOT update without going to the profile route, nothing auto. And even then it still wont update the drone itself at all. What it did do however was return the slow load up time of the previous version of the RC2 and i often cannot switch back from video to photo mode now with the buttons. Laggy as heck...

just got the dongle 2 installed and only red no service light showing, because no sim installed, got a sim coming in a few days, do you need to have data available on the sim ? or will DJIs free first year of enhanced connection take care of that ?.

update: just got a free three sim, no data or minutes etc, put it straight from the packet into the Dongle 2 and have been flying around with full 4g ground and aerial service

Hi Darren what is mind blowing me, all the different software plugins like artlist and motion ray and with your luts which software are they all compatible with and Which one do you recommend? Cyberlink Powerdirector Final Cut Pro, VN, Adobe Premier Pro or DaVinci Resolve, Luma Fusion.
@@BTDecorating hey premier pro, DaVinci resolve and Final Cut Pro are the best and industry standard with the plugins and luts working on all of them. DaVinci is free and fcp has a free trial. All the mobile apps are good but the process takes longer.

I don't suppose you have any idea about battery life compromises if and when using the dongle? If you are flying and never get low on RC to drone connection will you still lose some battery life as theoretically the dongle will not be in use during any part of the flight? Do you use your phones mobile hotspot to establish the 4g connection between drone / dongle and controller? Sorry for the daft questions 😮
5g wouldn't effect the battery no more then 1 gust of wind. I'm taking about a 5 mph gust and gone.
@@w.e.s.If that is correct then I want one. The thing is though I read that a 'standard' flight of approximately 30 minutes that consumed 1 battery will require approximately 1gb of data. If that is the case then using 1gb obviously requires power over and above what is normally used on a flight. Nobody at DGI seems able or willing to commit to an answer about how much extra battery is consumed.

prob not, bec an update on mini3p cd ruin the sales of the mini4p... economicly common sense.
maybe u wait until the mini5p comes out to buy this one. im happy with my 4p but kept the 3p as reserve drone with max alt 500m.
I think aside from bug fixes they won’t offer anything new to the mini 3 pro, it’s an awesome drone and still is but doesn’t make business sense to give it new features when the 4 is out unfortunately
