Even if I wasn’t a guitar player tryin to cop his stuff, I’d be watching cause he is entertaining AF!
Greg this is in my opinion the best taught, shown, demonstrated and explained method and technic for chicken pickin I've ever heard
I love this guy. Great teacher and an even better player.
Tele wrangling, Stratocaster manipulation, and Les Paul contortions. Thus is the greatness of Mr. Greg Koch.
This man is good to the point of ridiculousness.
At around three minutes it sounds more like an organ than any guitar I have ever heard. Koch is OFF THE HOOK. Best electric guitar player in the world. Next!

i own the same guitar and i highly recommend it ! quite expensive but you'll never get rid of such an instrument, it's comfortable and sings like a dream. from country to metal it can play anything ! (fender american tele deluxe ash)
They are not too bad but most use terrible quality heavy ash which results in the guitar not being as resonant as it could be. I sold mine and put together a partscaster instead: much better.

Wondering how many in the audience speak English fluently enough to have any idea what he's saying. The drummer has the look of a guy who does not have any idea what he's saying but smiles at appropriate times when he realizes that he's said a joke.

Yes. It's probably a Neo Ventilator which is what Greg was using around that time. Amazing pedals !

Eliot, totally agreed! I just stumbled upon him via the Wildwood Guitars demos & seriously, he's so funny (and oh yeah, a way inventive picker too) I'm watching his 'Wood demos every day now. EVERY demo i learn somethin' new & get the humor boost to boot.

I agree Greg) What a pain in the ass it was to learn . I used to put a quarter on the needle head to slow the recorded down and have to tune lower. The beer we drank out of frustration from learning now from a scratched record from learning licks scales Arpeggios)

I'd guess those are Joe Barden "Danny Gatton" or modern T-set.
Much as I really do love Greg's playing..I'll tell ya -there alot of guys who can play on the same level as him..usally they are in higher education music academies. but they are out there.

the drummer guy doesn't seem to be too impressed....LOL... great lesson on some elusive techniques.
Its really easy to do this type of picking on telecasters. while its fun, its really simple with some 9 strings low action. you dont see many people doing this type of speed with technique on other types of guitars but when you do its amazing. I myself love to pick these blazing licks style, but for a real challenge try it on a lespaul.
why do anything on a les paul of you have a tele....thats just silly.
+scott ha I guess it's a matter of preference, to me I can't make a tele sound anything good tone to me, i can throw 11s on it and it still sounds like a banjo into a tin can

greg is a great teacher. he makes interesting by adding in some humor. you just had to be on the level to be able to learn from him. if not....you're going to get frustrated and say stupid things like he's not a great teacher. such a pity. maybe you should practice.

You can hear how Guthrie Govan was massively influenced by this guy. I've heard so many of Greg-style licks come out out of Guthrie's fingers! LOL!
