  • The Dee bore starts out in the Dee estuary, somewhere between Flint and Connah’s Quay Power Station. It makes its way up the river and finally meets its demise at the rapids by the Old Dee Bridge in Chester city centre. Having just passed under the Grosvenor Bridge, the breaking bore came into view much diminished in size, then becoming undular as it entered deeper water by the filming location. The tide continued to rise in the river after the bore front had disappeared and it took just 20 minutes for the rising water to top the weir. The tidal rise then continued up stream past Aldford and beyond Farndon.
