Wish the vocals were more "harsh" but always nice to see Mike still doing his own thing.

Great video and song! Mike Browning never dissapoints! Did an interview in my channel with him 3 w/a very humble and down to earth. I dont want to put the link to avoid problems, it has also spanish subs. Talks much about the new one, The Key, Paradox and Morbid Angel years.

Mike never dissapoints with his music!!! Since the Nocturnus demos!!! BTW I did a cool interview with Mike three weeks ago at my TH-cam channel called RAGE REVIEWS. Very humble and down to earth, he talked a lot of this new one, The Key, his career and Morbid Angel.

Love the idea of expanding this storyline. Definitely sets it apart from the usual satanic stuff. Nice to hear the keyboards taking a more prominent role in terms of soloing. Mike is kicking ass on the drums as well.

Theurgic CHIMES!!!!!!!! Keys never sounded better. Ripping solos.
I really like this song, and the video is a nice touch. Gotta love the alternating guitar and keyboard solos, too! Pretty killer.
That being said, I feel like these guys would do better with an actual singer. The vocalist here isn't really singing; he's narrating. It's an interesting concept, for sure. I just feel like a melodic singer would really bring this track to life.
That's just my two cents. Take it or leave it.
I think actual growling would have been sufficient. This feels like some demo vocals.
Mike Browning is the original vocalist/drummer of Morbid Angel and Nocturnus. Check out Abominations of Desolation and The Key; he sounds amazing there. You're right that here he sounds like he's simply talking.

I guess you would rather me sound like everyone else, you are missing the whole point. I don't want to sound like everyone else because that would just lump us in with every other death metal band that now has keyboards and the standard death metal vocals. Sorry to disappoint you, but that is not my goal with my band. But go for it with your own band and good luck standing out in the crowd.

OK - MAYBE I'd accept second, growly backing vocal but to me Nocturnus is Mike and his telling stories.

I have been given this album a try and to be honest.. I am not really liking it. I can understand if it's a continuation of the previous alvum but that alone had more solid build up then this album. But I never really like listening to albums that are long, a good 4/5 min track is more then enough.

This video is laughable, and unfortunately the vocals do not sound so good overall. Streamed everything on bandcamp and it is an interesting musical journey with a few similarities to early Nocturnus. Certainly worth hearing all the audio.
