This fly looks pretty much catchy for seatrout coming up our small rivers in northern Germany. It is a beautiful fly for our eyes but for the seatrout it is realistic bait. I think brown trout will also love it. Thank you for showing. tight lines from Hamburg, Germany

Beatiful fly and I imagine hard to resist for any type av predator fish.
I would use it in a river for brown trout.

Yep, this season I suspect its going to be my new go-to for those suspiciously quiet runs where there's no small fish hanging about. The ones where the Jaws theme starts quietly playing in my head, "here be a brute"

Thank you for sharing this pattern. I would use this fly in the lakes for large mouth bass here in the states.

    Hi Karl:
I was looking for something to tie w/my new cdl pardo and tried yours--very cool, the cdl is very twisty--you make it look easy. Which Gulff did you use to glue the eyes?
Hard to find a thin product like that here! Thanks, randy c

Thank you for sharing this fly, I would be curious to see what it gives in the rivers of eastern France

This would be absolutely deadly for the browns here (Central Scotland). Streamer fishing isn't very popular here but its my preferred tactic, especially if there's a bit of colour/height in the river. This would sort the big fish which are *always* looking for a sizeable meal (i just call them "posh pike" these days as they are equally predatory). With a little more flash it would be deadly for sea trout too, and tied on saltwater hooks with appropriately adapted colours would take bass, mackerel, pollock, etc fished from the shore.
I've just bought the Metz Cape you have there in order to tie up a large batch for this season (and it was not cheap, ouch, i've paid a lot less for grade A jungle cock capes!)
That vice looks stunning, maybe one day I'll be able to justify one (once the kids have left home... If my eyesight is still any good 🤣)

Snygg fluga! Brukar också använda mig av cdl på en variant jag binder av KG’s Mini-Bangtail. Skulle sikta på borre och öring med denna om den landar här hemma i brevlådan!🙂

    Grymt fin fluga, grym flugbindare.
Vad är heter nacken, finns den att köpa på flydressing?

Flott flue😊 Den tar sikkert mange ulike fisker, selv ville jeg brukt den til ørretfiske i saltvann og innsjø🎣 Ny følger 😅

Either Coq de leon is cheaper in Europe or these guys are just tying freaking 4$ worth of feathers onto a fly.
