Thank you for covering this song. It’s so interesting to see, up close and personal, how Yngwie’s right and left hands played this masterpiece. You did a fantastic job covering it!
“Far Beyond the Sun”, is one my favorite songs from my favorite album by him - “Rising Force”.
I had the chance to meet him, after one of his shows, on his tour bus. His wife was outside the bus and went in to see if he was in the “mood” to talk with fans.
He was, and my friend and I climbed onto the bus and had a 5-minute conversation with him. He signed a CD that I had gotten from my car.
One thing, that was particularly interesting, was how I had a second (greatest hits) CD with me. He said that this CD was made and sold without his permission. He asked me if he could have it and I gave it to him.
Yngwie was quite friendly and I’ll never forget having the chance to meet him, in person!
I made a small mistake with my comment above. Actually, I meant to say that Yngwie’s second album, “Marching Out”, is my favorite album.
In fact, I like it a lot more than his first. Every song on Marching Out is strong, while “Rising Force” has some weaker spots in it, in my opinion.
I often hear people say “he made it look easy!” But you really did, for a while there I thought I had a chance without having to practice for several more years!

I've seen a lot people play this but they play it like robots, the fact that you play it so accurately but still added some improvisation is the sign of a true artist.. Excellent job!!

Absolutely brilliant playing guy! Totally agree that this is one of the greatest instrumental songs ever written! I got to see Yngwie doing this live in the mid-late 80's when I feel he was in his prime. Running around the stage like a demon possessed while playing at an intensity that was mind blowing!!!
