  • I am by no means a professional, but I have learned a trick or two over the years. So many maintenance items can be done in your garage with a little know-how, and I intend on sharing some of mine with you guys!

    Super helpful! I'm working on an electric motor bike build and having issues with the rear wheel. I'll give it a try!

    I was told after truing wheel to torque spoke to spec by starting by valve stem tightening all the way skip two tighten. Then when you get back to starting point go to the next one skip two repeat then go to the third one skip two repeat. So you do 3 Revolutions to tighten all the spokes but doing so in that order keeps the wheel true when tightening down spokes to spec

    Thanks for the video! Finally picked up another 250 2t, and the rear wheels spokes are so loose.... Thank goodness I didn't ride it yet except test ride before purchase.

      I also did check while looking over the bike before purchase. And not all of the spokes are loose. Just majority. And the ones I felt and looked at are of course the ones that are tight. Live and learn!

    You made it seem so easy. I’m totally blind and will be trying this with a 21 inch dirtbike rim that has all the spokes loose because the rim is a little bent out of whack. Any tips will be appreciated but please wish me luck. A new cheap rim cost about $180 that I’m not trying to spend. I don’t even have a spoke wrench but I think I can get by with an adjustable crescent wrench.

      Glad this video was of use to you! I’ve since sold this bike to a buddy, and he said his local shop was impressed by how true the wheels were. If you take your time, you can get your wheel REALLY close using this method 🤘🏼🤘🏼 ride on brother!

    After truing the wheel, do the spokes then need to be torqued to spec all the way round?. If they do need to be torqued after truing, is their a chance that they could be pulled out of line again?

    How did you torque the spokes down. Did you use a torque wrench?

    • @connarmarsh9060
      @connarmarsh9060 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can feel it out

    • @Granturry98
      @Granturry98  3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      I did not use a torque wrench. Like Connar said, you can feel this out. I got them tight, then checked after my first ride. Checking my spokes is part of my pre ride checklist, and should frequently be checked.
