Unboxing & First Testimage With Askar 103, ZWO 2600MC, AVX And SSAG

The equipment I told you of in the last video finally arrived. This video is about the unboxing and setting up process. Let's take a look at the first image I took with this rig. How do the corners look with the combination of the Askar, the extreme 0,6x reducer and the 28,3mm sensor?

Honestly your stars look supersharp. Impressive. So where all these photos done with the 0.6 reducer? The real challenge would be to see if the SSAG could still guide effectively with the native full focal length of 700mm without any reducer (or a 1x flattener). To really challenge it you could try it with the C8. I have the SSAG but dont use it much as I have switched to a non-celestron mount - its a shame its a locked in system

Thanks! Yes, all were taken with 0,6x reducer / flattener. I expected the corners at least to look worse but I'm really happy about the star shape all over the field.
I'd guess anything below 1000mm focal length should be manageable for the ssag - even if I did not test it. I guess I won't because I still use the EQ8 and the 10“ Newton for images that need a higher focal length.
Does your SSAG work well? Does it autoalign correctly and without any problems?

Hello! I'm not an expert but is that "pattern" in the star normal? I mean those 4 dark stripes around the big star at 3:45 🤔

@@edgardodominguez2159 i guess that should be normal for a bright star in a corner. My Samyang 135 shows similar stripes and it never bothered me as long as the stars are round. I couldn't find other images with the same equipment so far
