opossums :V Nihei's major work are recognizably very specific genres once you understand how his funhouse lens alters them (BLAME! is only cyberpunk *in aesthetics*, it is actually a *cyberwestern*), some more obvious than others. Aposimz is very clearly a Nihei-lensed Kamen Rider / tokusatsu-heroes-in-general to a slightly lesser degree (it's also Total Annihilation?!) As such, it responds to the eternal annoying question of "why don't you just attack while he's transforming" by making the transformations extremely fast. And then it blows *that* up by introducing a guy who's even faster and kills people before they can transform. Nihei is extremely funny.
Nihei deserve better, the manga industry is so mess up. He is 53 but I hope he opens a twitter or something for him to see that people love his work and are willing to help him draw what he wants. Yoshitoshi ABe was also in not so good spirits but he has some social media presence and knows people love his art. I would give all my bucks to ABe to do Despera and to Nihei to create what he wants if they open a kickstarter or something.
yea but like his newest series, dungeon tower...i just cant it is not tsutomu nihei, literally nothing that makes me think of his art or even the story, its not even sci fi
For those that dont know - there is a short proto-type one shot manga called Country of the dolls (Ningyou No Kuni). With the end of Aposimsz, it actually turns out it is a prequel about the Emperor meeting Titania for the 1st time.
18:15 The one who wouldn't be restored was Kadzywan, Kersha's brother. The emperor actually got restored alongside Etherow and we can see him in the last panel with the appearence he had when Tirania chosed him.
I couldn't agree more, I liked the art and the ending actually fixed a little bit of the plot for me, I didn't like that the bad guys were... so cliche, but the tragic story of the main villain kinda explains a lot
It felt like the arc was complete in Aposimz. I suspect it was the change to a more stark/minimalist art style. Still great. If I remember, he mentioned trying to be more accessible and faster at one point. Knights of Sidonia was like the bridge between old and new
I just finished Aposimz too! I've been trying to pace myself so i don't run out of Nihei to read because i really enjoy his stuff. My current ranking of his stuff is: Blame! Aposimz Biomega Snikt
Oh i like this one, the art is a bit in the lower end for Nihei standard. Its a good shonen. For me the only real let down was the ending. I hate that ending, it make me feel all the struggles never matter for the story.
i really like the manga and the worldbuilding and i love MUGU but the ending was asscrack in my opinion and it felt like he had to end the series early which was a bummer
Sorry but i cant consider it good as Biomega (where Nihei peaked for me). I dont think he lost passion or something like that, Aposimz wasnt bad. But Biomega was just cooler in every aspect for me and by alot .
Basically Aposimz:
Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.

@@aspen.mangakaHe has probably wanted to draw a fantasy series for a very long time and did. It's fine.

The panels were slightly unclear and there was some scene jumping between pages but yes, the emperor passed on. The brother was rejected.
