Yes but if you watch the scene shown here in the first standoff. He was clearly warned of what was going to happen play-by-play if they were to really face off. The problem was RJ wasn't paying attention & didn't listen to what was being told to him & ended up being the victim of what he had already been warned of by the very man he should have been paying attention to.
