Thanks for another great ride, as always. I’ve been doing them in smaller increments and incorporating them into my workout routine. So I do 20-minute warmups before using my home gym. Then periodically mix in a longer ride (45 minutes to an hour). So one way or another your rides are an integral part of my workout routine. I love the occasional commentary about the things you encounter on your rides and landmarks you pass. It makes it that much more interesting. See you on the next one!
Really a nice ride, since my mountain bike is in the shop. by the way the Rio Grand Southern ended in Ridgway, and the Rio Grand Western went on to Montrose through what is now the state park. Thank for all your great rides.
Good question! You mean the blue plaque at 38:18. Looks like scrap made to look like a steam locomotive. I count 13 ironing board irons among the metal pieces and a vacuum cleaner and who knows what else. Some people have a strange taste in art.
Jerry's Scenic Cycling I saw it briefly and I also thought it was a swallowtail. I saw one on a trip to The Badlands in South Dakota. This is the photo I took of it: flic.kr/p/JpDjpD
Great ride Jerry! Thanks for posting these, it makes my winter rides enjoyable.
Glad you like them!
Beautiful trip! I love your comments and explanations. Thanks again! :)
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks so much from an ex-pat living in the UK. This one’s my favourite so far!
Great to hear!

Wow such amazing rides! Keep safe.
Thank you, I will

Thanks for the info! I'm looking at other abandoned narrow gauge railways for biking videos this summer.
Thanks again a lovely trip from New Zealand
More to come!
Loved it! What were all those pieces on the blue plaque? Butterfies and eagles all in the same day! Thanks again for the ride.

@@JerrysScenicCycling I guess,. It does make you wonder. I was a Blacksmith but I never chromed my scrap...
Very good. But who is Marci?
Marci is my better half, for the past 30 years.
Any possibility of recording in 4K?
My camera will shoot in 4K only in wide angle view. Wide angle view makes the mountains look tiny, not good for scenery.
super, I think it's Papilio rutulus buttefly.
You are right! And Marci says it's a Tigertail so I googled it and Papilio rutulus is also known as Western tiger swallowtail.
