The internationally-accliamed Cuban guitarist was recorded live at the Munich Philharmonie, playing Rodrigo's Concierto de Aranjuez with the Munich Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Jean-Pierre Wallez. As an encore, he plays Albéniz's Asturias. The concert also includes solo performances of Rodrigo's Invocation et Danse and music by Fernando Sor, and Chick Corea.

Such a beautiful guitar player. The the is only one Joaquin Rodrigo and comes close to him. He talks to his guitar no matter whether whether and in what concert he plays.
Manuel Barrueco ein Gitarrist mit ausgeprägter Gitarristischer Begabung im Technischen als auch im Musikalischen .Im Jahr 1991 durfte ich ihn persönlich im Studio der Landesgirokasse kennen lernen ( Gitarrentage damals von Friedemann Wuttke veranstaltet)😃

Arturo Zeballos: Efectivamente, hay un pequeño error en el minuto 14:26, en una sola nota. Eso le puede suceder a cualquiera. De todos modos la versión de M. Barrueco es muy buena.

Creo que esa noche o iba muy nervioso o esa guitarra no le jugó mucho a su favor, rechina mucho posiblemente haya sido nueva y no la había domesticado lo suficiente, en 3:16 no suena la guitarra otra vez, de igual manera en Variaciones sobre un tema de Mozart se equivoca en un par de ocasiones, el mérito es que sigue adelante, yo que soy estudiante nuestro error es parar y repetir el error en vez de seguir y peor que hacemos gestos que lo hacen más evidente jajsja, me encantó esta versión más por una escala que no recuerdo haberla odio en varias versiones que he visto.

He has a very special technique.. His fingers stay as close as possible on the fret.. that's how he succeeds in that clean and fast sound..
I've just tried playing along with the 3rd movement. Needless to say I gave up halfway through. What a tempo!
I have known him personally for over 30 years and in virtually all of his concerts, he has made no mistakes. Nobody else comes anywhere close to this.
Too bad to recognise a critical mistake at the end of the Candenza.
yeah...it can happen to the best.....pretty sure he smashed his guitar in the dressing room afterwards.....i probably would.....he's nailed that a 1000 times in rehearsal
