Charizard for sure. I always picked him in the Pokémon red and blue games even though bulbasaur was better he will always be special to me! Also scanning for sure is the future. We are in a digital age and will continue to progress that further with more automated/computerized grading capabilities.
My favorite gen one Pokémon is squirtle for sure, and I think scanning will play a large part in the future of grading but idk if we are quite at a point to fully replace some aspects of hand held

I think grading should be a combo of handheld and scanning. Computers can be super accurate, but I think it should have a handheld review before a final grade is determined.
Hey Leonhart! I would really love the Poliwag card. I've been collecting every version of Poliwag in the TCG and have every single english one released (currently in the process of getting the Japanese ones too!) Gengar has always been my favorite, I always loved his character design. I think scanning is the future for graded cards, since handheld grading introduces bias and inconsistencies.
As long as it’s implemented well, I feel like AI could be the future of card grading. Eliminates any bias or error of done right. I worry my cards just get glossed over by human graders at PSA/BGS since they have to meet quotas.

My favorite pokemon for gen one is Articuno. And I think the future of grading is a combination of the two scanning and handling because it will more accurate in my opinion.
Squirtle has to be my favorite by far. As for the grading system, I do like computer scanned grading. I feel like giving out too many 10s with psa grading reduces the value and chase aspect of the cards, but I’ll take any slab anytime of day lol!
There's something to be said about the proficiency of scanning cards and having them graded with the unbiased opinion of AI with the human aspect of reviewing and going over the cards. Robograding is the future in card grading.
My favourite set of all time is the Jungle set - mainly because it's got my baby Flareon in it with one of my most favourite Flareon artwork, but also because the packaging is so prettty, and it has so many cool cards!
I thinking scanning grading will be the future. Scanning grades would most likely be more consistent since a person grading may be a little more biased depending on who is looking at the specific card
God I hope so and I hope it’s cheaper. My stepson has given me his old collection and there’s base set holos in there that are making me 🤤 but I simply can’t afford the PSA bulk grading 😂
Appraisal processes in multiple industries have avoided computer grading. Too many jobs would be lost and the process could easily be copied. Human appraisals offer hands on review by “experts”. I agree it should be too
Auto grading makes sense for the future of grading so wouldn’t be surprised if more places will do it. You should send the RoBo graded cards in for hand grading too see if there’s a diff. Would be a cool video👍🏻👍🏻
You should make a Pokémon TCG tier list :D It would be awesome if you made a tier list of every Pokémon set in each era, like all the sets from Sword & shield and so on. Why has no Pokémon-youtuber done this yet? :)
I was in the Pokemon League when I was 7-8 years old. How it worked was you had a little booklet and everytime you defeated another player in the League you would report it to the local game store employee and they would stamp your booklet. Once you got enough stamps you had to "Fight" a Gym Leader ( in the same order as the game) So you would fight Brock and the store owner would have to use that "Trainer Deck". If you beat them you were given a Metal Badge (Pin). you can then start making progress towards the next badge. was AMAZING as a kid and a great concept.
I believe the future of grading is scanning. To me it makes sense from a business standpoint to make this process automated. By doing so it will not only make the grading more accurate, but also cut down on employee hours. It might hurt job security for those that are card graders, but ultimately I believe it would be a benefit for the company.
I can’t tell you how badly I would like to grade some of my cards. Unfortunately pricing is just ridiculously high. It’s so sad that most of us cannot afford to grade the cards we love. I wish these companies would stop scamming us for our money and allow us common individuals to be able to afford grading the cards we love.
I think scanning will be the future of grading. At first it might have some errors maybe idk but scanning definitely Red cheeks pickachu definitely I’m a huge fan of pickachu and want to get all of em one day 🤞 And keep up the good work I actually recently got into Pokémon cards and I at least for me your videos entertain me as well as teach me about cards👍🏻
Hey Leonhart! To a lot of people, they'd probably expect something like Charizard, but my favorite is Hypno! With all of the Pokemon games that have the children, ghosts, and best of all, Hypno; I have always been interested in the Hypno creepypasta and all of the content made around it, the shiny form is also amazing, as I love shinies with pink coloration! I'm excited to see how this turns out!
Man, I was following you during the road to 1 million. Now look, almost 2 million subscribers. That’s impressive. My favorite Gen 1 is Dratini or Char. However, my all time favorite is Larvitar/ Tyranitar, gen 2.
Favorite poke from Gen 1 is Mewtwo. I think that a cross grade between humans and computer sounds intriguing! Computers are more precise and faster than we are but it would still be nice to know that a human laid eyes on it as well for assurances! Thanks for the content Leonhart!
Great video! My favourite gen 1 video would have to be Seel as seals in real life are my favourite animals and I think Seel is very cute. Also, I think the use of both handheld and scanned are the future techniques for grading as machines can make mistakes so should be backed up by human eyes.
Pidgey is the best gen 1 pokemon. It's always the first to add to your team in the original games. I think it will continue to be handheld after the spike in cards being graded comes down.
Leon!!! My favorite Gen 1 is both Charizard and Magmar. That battle they had in the anime was an unforgettable one for me on top of the volcano. I still watch till this day. Just saw it with my son a couple of days ago showing him my favorite Pokémon moments
Scyther is not only my favorite Gen 1 Pokemon, but my favorite Pokemon overall! As far as grading goes, I feel like machine scanning grading would be great as it's less subjective and would negate the need to crack open cases for re-grade.
Hey Leonhart, my favorite first gen would be Charmander! I think the future of grading would be scanning so that it cancels out bias as much as possible since some cards have a celebrity/influencers stamp all over them. I started watching your videos during the lockdown and that forced me to find my old pokemon cards, which fortunately or unfortunately I found, pretty destroyed. We didn't have the habit of keeping them in sleeves/albums all those years ago in India! Thanks for the nostalgia! Love your videos, and the energy! Cheers!
So if you scan the QR code on the back, it should take you to a link where you can see the breakdown of all the different categories graded and what they got. It is interesting as they do multiple decimal places, so you get a pretty detailed evaluation. I'm still not sure how I feel about automating the entire process and taking the human element out of it, but I do think that all the details AGS provides and the speed at which they can turn around your cards are pretty great.
Hey Leonhart! I would say that Haunter is my favorite gen 1 pokemon! I still watch the episodes that he is in in the first season of the anime every once in a while! Love the videos man!
I was away from pokemon tcg for almost 15 years... and suddenly I found your videos, and couldn't help looking for my old pokemon cards. Feels totally awesome, thank you! That said, my favorite gen 1 has to be Lapras. Such a pleasant pokemon overall!
For my kids again - favorite gen 1 Pokémon is mew or mewtwo. They have luckily pulled a couple and absolutely go crazy when they find them! Mew and venasaur they could never get enough of them. They have definitely got me into Pokémon some as I started with Magic and sports cards as a kid. Thanks for the good video. Also scanning is the way to go and where it will be headed, save money in labor and more precise. Keep up the good work
Love the video! Favorite pokemon definitely gengar! And I think it will move to scanning. Being more consistent and eliminating human error I think leads to more fair grades across the board.
Hey Leonhart, watching your videos for these past few years have gotten me back into a hobby I love and find out new things about the Poke community so thank you for all that you do and give to this community, it's really much appreciated 😊. Fav Gen 1 has to be Gengar 👻👻
I think the scanning will eventually take over completely. Removes any bias or personal opinion from the equation. My favorite gen 1 card has to be the holo machamp, it was the first holo I pulled from gen 1. Wish I knew where it went after all these years.
Moltres all day, love the firebird with all my heart. He is the torch that lit the way through my adolescence and I wouldn’t be here without him. The phoenix of gen 1 life as we all know it.
the Original Ninetales is my favourite. I bought is as a kid from someone at school for £1.00 and lost it. Its now worth a lot more. I also think that grading will be a combination of both. Great Vid :)
Honestly scanning is probably the future of grading, due to people making mistakes not everyone is perfect but I feel like a scanning system would work a lot more.
It’s hard to say but I believe Psa and Beckett will still be the prominent way of grading for quite some time but robograding could be the future one day.
my favorite gen 1 pokemon is obviously charizard, and i think that the future of grading is defiantly a combination of both. i think that machines have more capability to make consistent grades but it still needs to be looked over for human review to confirm no mistakes. Loved the vid(:
My favorite gen 1 growing up and still to this day are the Poli trio. Main one being Poliwrath. Reason is because my name is Paul and I was young thinking they were associated with my name.
I think centering and corners will be ten times more consistent than hand grading but surface and whitening I’d like to see how the computer grades that
My favorite Gen 1 Pokémon will always be Wartortle. I always thought he looked so mean but also was probably a big softie on the inside. I always thought it was funny that your fave Pokémon of all time was Squirtle and mine was the equivalent of being Squirtle's big brother lol
My favorite gen 1 was and still is, is Gengar. Grading will be consisted of both handheld as well as scanning. Older cards by hand, newer cards scanned. Great video Leonheart.
My favourite gen 1 pokemon is hitmonchan due to my my love of boxing. You are definitely braver than me as I am worried if I cracked a slab that I would damage it even more
Charizard is my favorite Generation 1 Pokemon! I believe the future of grading is scanning! Congrats on your PSA grades! Thanks for sharing. Have a great night!
Leon! I didn't know you collected Metazoo! *edit* that wear on the back of the metazoo cards is actually part of the printing, to make them look worn :D
I love charizard but i cant get over squirtles cuteness. I started collecting recently and I bought my first ETB getting nothing but a Sneasle V. I honestly love the way they do low pull rates because it just makes it so much harder to get good cards which makes me so happy when I get something good. Also, thank you so much for the entertaining videos. I love them and would spend all day watching them! I think the future of grading would be scanning. It would make things more accurate but i also believe that there might be some errors so a little bit of both.
Favorite Gen 1 has to be cubone, I really like the story about its mom, and when I was a kid I thought it looked like kangaskhan, who was one of my other favorites. If I get chosen for the graded poliwag it will stay in my collection forever as my first graded ever and I will share it with my little bro
Gyarados is my favourite pokemon of all time. It was a special sense of accomplishment of training that Magikarp you buy at the poke centre at Mt Moon and evolving it into Gyarados. I think there will be resistance to changem I think eventually the scanning will be more efficient. It will be cheaper and quicker turn around for the customers. And it will be more consistent with grading.
For me I think that scanning will be the next big thing on grading, i all ready sent my 3 most expensive modern pokemon cards on my collection to grade with ags , wish me luck because grading with them is though!
Vaporeon is my favorite Gen 1 Pokémon. I remember going to toys r us and doing trading and battles. Miss that. I’m 35 now and still enjoy watching your videos. The grading should be a combo of both. Needs to be seen with the human eye then can be scanned for anything the human eye can’t see.
My favourite gen 1 Pokémon is also my favourite Pokémon of all time: GENGAR! It’s such a nutty Pokémon and I love how hilarious and playful they are, plus ghost type is my favourite type!
As for the future of grading, I feel like it’s gotta be a combination because yes, scanning technology sounds great on paper, but there may be some things that scanning can’t pick up on potentially. That said, if it gets perfected, I think scanning makes the most sense so there’s less variability in grading as you’ve proved with the times you’ve cracked and re-graded cards.
My favorite Gen 1 pokemon is definitely Poliwraith becayse of its fun typing and I love frogs, so having the GEM 10 Poliwag would be incredible! As for grading, I definitely think scanning is the future! I think the idea of limiting human error when grading cards is the ultimate goal
My favorite Gen 1 has to be Magmar, always been one of my all time favorites! I think the future will be scanning but, would like to see it a mix a both.
Your videos are awesome dude. As we are around the same age I also remember playing with base set when I was a child. My favourite cards were bulbasaur and venusaur. Unfortunately I never got the chance of a venusaur but I did get a blastoise. Keep up the good work dude
Favorite gen 1 Pokémon card is dark charizard. But the favorite Pokémon is eevee. As a kid I just loved how it transformed into 3 Pokémon and it always blew my mind
My favorite gen one Pokémon is definitely Dragonite because it’s so cute and I love dragon types. Also because it also has rare cards in some sets and it’s strong and is a pseudo legendary.
great video !! I know alot of others have been saying the same, but I feel the combination of the computer and human checks. computers first then have a person do a final check for insurance, cause computers although are pretty reliable can still make mistakes that could be costly.
SCAN THE QR CODE ON THE BACK LABEL with AGS graded cards if you want to see the categories it was graded on. I've sent one in and its been returned:) I'm very happy with the service and like that all cards receive the same grading process. And with AI, the system continues to learn as it grades more cards. It only gets more perfect from here!
Machamp 100% my young self loved the four hench arms and I still do 😂 I can’t see a fault in the sick design with the lines on the head that look like a mohawk. And I believe the future of grading is with computer’s because then it isn’t just down to someone’s opinion and it either is a gem mt 10 or it isn’t. Keep up the great content, ur the goat! 🐐 💯 🔥
Favourite Gen 1 Pokémon is definitely Alakazam; having to get the Pokémon in the older generation games using trading just felt so great and not to mention how great the design looks.
AGS has a 20 day turnaround. I met the guys at a collectacon and they were dope af. They give you a QR code so you can see how they grade your cards and give you sub categories. They show you all blemishes if any, corners, centering, the whole lot. They’re also really affordable. I’m not promoted by them but I do love what they do.
My favorate gen 1 card is charizard. Thanks for uploading daily videos. I also think its better for scanning for consistent grading but if this is the future of grading no more crack the slab videos. Its also fair for people who grade cards becuase some people could get lucky with a better grader.
Heads up as well everyone; if you a comment from me on here, please make sure it has the same verified checkmark like I have on this comment. Thanks!
How are you picking the comments?
Sandshrew is my favorite gen 1 pokemon due to Season 1 Episode 8 being the funniest episode and he gets his 100th win
I hope I have good luck
My fav gen Pokemon is Charmander
Charizard for sure. I always picked him in the Pokémon red and blue games even though bulbasaur was better he will always be special to me! Also scanning for sure is the future. We are in a digital age and will continue to progress that further with more automated/computerized grading capabilities.

Its going to be like this:
“Woops, the computer gave this charizard a 10. We can't have that!"
@@peronkop basically 😂

My favorite gen 1 was and still is, is Gengar. Grading will be consisted of both handheld as well as scanning. Older cards by hand, newer cards scanned. Great video Leonheart.
My favourite gen 1 pokemon is hitmonchan due to my my love of boxing. You are definitely braver than me as I am worried if I cracked a slab that I would damage it even more
My favourite gen 1 pokemon is Arcanine! I loved the Light Arcanine you pulled recently 😍
Charizard is my favorite Generation 1 Pokemon! I believe the future of grading is scanning! Congrats on your PSA grades! Thanks for sharing. Have a great night!
My favorite Pokémon is Poliwhirl!! He just looks so adorable and sweet, and I love how it looks like it’s wearing boxing gloves :)
Charmander..kept all the base set ones I had when I was younger. Scene where his trainer leaves him to die was a heartbreaker.
Liked and subscribed! Cool video as always. My favourite gen 1? There are so many. As a kid it was Gyarados, such a badass pokemon.
Yo poliwag the nostalgia is strong in this one, and I believe man + machine can do justice for the whole hobby
I think Scanning will be the future for grading. Less error, and faster than physically looking at it
Leon! I didn't know you collected Metazoo!
*edit* that wear on the back of the metazoo cards is actually part of the printing, to make them look worn :D
Blastoise has always been my favorite pokemon gen 1 and throughout time
Articuno was my day 1 and has never been replaced. Gotta love him
I think it's a combination of both because you always need to double check the cards no matter what a person or machine decides
Poliwrath is definitely my favorite gen 1 pokemon and it had such a unique typing for the longest time but it still holds a special place in my heart!
My favorite pokemon is Farfetch'd! I just adore the design of the duck trying to look scary with its leek, really good design!
Its a great racket to have going: cracking open older graded cards to get them re-graded with new techniques!
Favorite Gen 1 has to be cubone, I really like the story about its mom, and when I was a kid I thought it looked like kangaskhan, who was one of my other favorites. If I get chosen for the graded poliwag it will stay in my collection forever as my first graded ever and I will share it with my little bro
Super awesome!
My fav gen one is PORYGON. I was always referred to as the tech support kid and this was my pokemon 🙂
Nice!!! I think SGC has really been my go to now though and Digimon is gaining traction too but like your stuff Sir!! 🔥🔥
My favorite gen 1 Pokémon has been and always will be Mankey 😎
My favorite Gen 1 has to be Magmar, always been one of my all time favorites! I think the future will be scanning but, would like to see it a mix a both.
Your videos are awesome dude. As we are around the same age I also remember playing with base set when I was a child. My favourite cards were bulbasaur and venusaur. Unfortunately I never got the chance of a venusaur but I did get a blastoise. Keep up the good work dude
I have to say one of my favorite Gen 1 pokemon cards is bulbasur
Nidoking was always a go to and one of my favorite gen 1 Pokémon for the longest time💕
Favorite gen 1 Pokémon card is dark charizard.
I wouldn't mind a bit of both types of grading ! Would be really cool
great video !!
I know alot of others have been saying the same, but I feel the combination of the computer and human checks.
computers first then have a person do a final check for insurance, cause computers although are pretty reliable can still make mistakes that could be costly.
Dragonite for sure! Keep up the great work Leon!
I could be also biased for having an AGS 10 Charizard V from champions path :p
My favorate gen 1 card is charizard. Thanks for uploading daily videos. I also think its better for scanning for consistent grading but if this is the future of grading no more crack the slab videos. Its also fair for people who grade cards becuase some people could get lucky with a better grader.
