The time and effort it takes to learn the dancing is so amazing and the time and effort in making the costumes is absolutely nothing like i can barely grasp. So proud for all our native American people.

How I love the dances and the music…I feel right at home with them, especially when I am able to attend the Powwows. I have been to many of them with my husband, and we both have friends and have been accepted into one of the tribes as family. But due to health issues, we are unable to travel far anymore and have missed out on many of the Powwows and other tribal events we used to attend. In one of the reenactment events I participated in, I met a tribal medicine woman, and because of whom and with my representation of her tribe helping in bridging the gap between her peoples and mine, she gave me her name. It was a big honor and I carry it proudly for her heritage and ancestors. I’ve also been given the privilege of sitting in beating the drums with them, thanks to someone who recognized my spiritual connection with them and accepted me into their tribal culture and lives. I have been able to also do the dances they have just shown here, but some are only allowed by tribal traditions, while others are allowed at certain times in the powwow celebration. I can keep up with them, but not anymore, thanks to various health issues….it’s something I wish I could still do though…I miss it…..😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😥

You can't be serious.. you should read a book, because many tribes were VERY war minded and always fighting each other.... Including my people.. the Blackfoot and Comanche were notorious

Thank you for admitting you are European descent. Most of these people nowadays like African Americans are mad because they could not OBTAIN REPARATIONS.. so that's the reason several blacks are claiming to be native Americans SIMPLY FORGETTING ALL ABOUT THE SLAVE TRADE. EVEN NATIVE AMERICANS USED TO OWN "BLACK SLAVES"

I miss Powwows, I miss beading, seeing the originals in full Rogalia brings my heart to a dance. If the people was to practice Indian medicine this world would be a better place. I remember an elder talking about respecting the Bear, because of that is why of the imbalance of the Mother Earth. This place we live on needs a lot of healing now . ❤🌎

I am a Filipino and I could say that I have high respect and appreciation for these people because they held on and persevered with their unique culture and system. The Philippines is also a home of many ethnic groups and each indigenous group of people observes different traditions and cultures. I can see that their regalia or costumes are similar to the Bago-Igorot Tribe in the Philippines and they almost sing the same song. These people always live in harmony with nature, spirituality, and strong family ties like Filipinos.

i always thought if i was with them id be waving at the camera happy and away from the rest of the family.

@@tamarastone141Try having 1% (through 8th great grandparents) that comes from the Sami people, who are related by DNA to the Blackfoot people in Canada. Lol! I’ve had to show people an old black and white photo of a Blackfoot girl who looks like Greta Thunberg to prove to them that some tribes are related to Northern Europeans. Doppelgängers are all too common in family lines. Heck the one dancer in the video looks like Wes Studi. 😳

@@kevinlezo1046 I'm African and we have our own various cultures, ethnic groups, traditions and languages. It would be considered a shame to our culture to pretend to be of another culture or ethnic group. This is an American byproduct don't throw us in the mix. Control your own homeland, she's claiming to be of your people not ours.
