      You're not too far off the mark. They based the Water Bending style off of Taiji Quan (tai chi). All the bending styles were developed from real life martial arts; Water was Taiji Quan, Earth was Hung Gar, Air was Ba Gua Zhang, and Fire was Northern Shaolin-style Kung Fu.

    Much respect man. Cool to see you get more into Capoeira lately, which is my art of study and choice. Your Eastern forms are amazing. Foot work is so light and I admire the expressiveness with the range. Though it doesnt pertain to this video, I wanted to say that your sword work is just superb. Keep making em and Ill keep watching them for sure.

    • @sssentertainment
      @sssentertainment  10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you.
      More sword videos are awaiting upload.
      One just got uploaded fairly recently.
      Another Capoeira video on its way, as soon as I improve myself a little more. :)

    • @justinmilani
      @justinmilani 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      sssentertainment Something I can suggest for Capo-improvement is focus on opening your shoulders, primarily for ground work. Practive your ponte (bridge) for that and variations. For someone with vast knowledge of Eastern Arts that focus much on stable and grounding you dont make the mistake of keeping that when transitioning with Capoeira, so thats good. Also use more hip extension, which is also primarily with ground maneauvers and that pretty much means try to avoid leaning forward or letting your butt sag when your simulating negativa and transitions. That helps to gain space or retreat when neccessary and helps with extension with attacks which your flexibility might be overcompensating. I mean you have awesome flexibility but if you lean back to rely on shoulder strength you can reserve more energy. And lastly maintain your guard. This is probably the most important. Your guard pretty much disapears when you perform attacks. Hope this makes sense. Minor tweaks really but with this I would love to see what you come up with.

      Justin Milani Sweet, I'll keep it in mind for sure.
      Although, this vid is not ideal for seeing where my Capoeira lies.
      I was so tired that day of shooting that I cut major corner with the Muai Thai and Capoeira. I really robbed myself of the quality, that's for sure.
      Nevertheless, thanks for your solid tips.
      :D

    Alright, let me test my martial knowledge. 1.Karate (I'm not sure which variant, but I'm guessing Shotokan) 2.Tae Kwon Do 3.Bokator 4.Capoeira 5.Eagle Kung Fu 6.Crane Kung Fu 7.Snake Kung Fu 8.Tiger Kung Fu 9.Mantis Kung Fu 10. Drunken Kung Fu 11.Ba Gua 12.Hung Gar (?) 13.Tai Chi

    • @Hootskins
      @Hootskins 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +J.C. Gleason Bokator = Muay Thai? Because that was most definitely Muay Thai.

    • @MrDoomGuy93
      @MrDoomGuy93 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I always confuse Muay Thai and Bokator. Their movements look very similar to me, but I'm mainly saying this out of ignorance since I have no formal training in either art (5 years of Shotokan Karate and Jeet Kune Do training).

    • @Marthonious
      @Marthonious 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +J.C. Gleason I had the same answers, Except number 3 That is definatly Muay Thai because Bokator has a more low to the ground basic stance (Like karate) and he was in the Tien Gar Muay stance (I think I spelt that right)

I study Taekwondo, Kickboxing, Boxing, Muay Thai, Karate, Kung Fu, Chinese Kenpo, (Demon) Tiger Fist, Drunken Fist, Qigong, Bajiquan, Jeet Kune Do. Keep up the good work Shaun :)

    Did i see Dim Mak? also there is one at the end I can only hazard a guess at, maybe Tai Chi? You are spot on with it even if you can tell you are taking it easy. But you are very relaxed and obviously have a firm grip and the ideology and technique, at least the ones I am familiar with. Very nice to watch someone else that enjoys a bit of everything.

    If you make a text comment at the beginning anyway, ple-ease specify that this is stuntwork, not actual traditional practice. I hate young people to be misguided about these things, especially thinking, that to master an art means to learn a couple of external forms then move to the next one

    • @sssentertainment
      @sssentertainment  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's not stuntwork.
      This is simply my creative flow of the styles I enjoy practicing each day. While it doesn't follow a classical pattern, or traditional forms, it still homages the essence of the style through my self-exploration of that particular style.
      Simply put, I am discovering myself in action with each style as I creatively flow within the present moment of movement. Simply put, exploring the "Art" part, as I lose myself in freestyle formlessness.

      +sssentertainment some ppl argue against forms, but I believe in forms practice. The problem is knowledge gets lost because application isn't taught. I wouldn't mix styles it's better to completely learn one system, then another. Be proficient at two is good. I like your vid. 👍🏻

    • @sssentertainment
      @sssentertainment  9 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I prefer to view each style of martial art as a tool. In carpentry, a vast assortment of tools are necessary to completing a particular project. Each tool (Hammer, Saw, Screwdriver, etc.) will find its place at the right time.
      Practice, through trial and error, will teach us when to utilize each tool.
      In terms of viewing martial arts as Art, I prefer to learn as much as possible for the cultivation of artistic versatility. If I only limit myself to drawing people, how will I ever be able to draw a tree?
      In the end, I am a large fan of human movement, and enjoy a variety of physical expression, from dance to martial arts.

    Fist one was a mix of TKD and Karate and the second (possibly third if some of these comments are sorter about it being karate and TKD separately in the beginning) one is Muay Thai. And if that Bing huge kick you did was supposed to be TKD I see why you said "rough" demonstration.

    Good video.
    If I was to try and showcase 13 fighting styles I'd try to find ones that all vastly differ
    Karate, Jujitsi, Wing Tsun, Muay Thai, Kendo, Tae Kwon Do, Boxing, Krav Maga, Capoeira, Kung Fu, Pancras, Fencing and Tai Chi. I reckon the 13 I named all have something the others don't.

      Olivér Juhász [Colibri] Wouldn't you say Kendo and traditional Fencing are vastly different, though?

      +Ophiuchus123456789 Yes they are. Kendo has got bokken and other techniques and you can slay but in fencing u can only stab

      Olivér Juhász [Colibri] In that case, I did mean Kendo. I've never been impressed with Kempo.

    Challenge accepted. Without reading the comments. I missed a couple transitions which means I haven't been paying as much attention lately, but I saw: Tae Kwon Do, Muay Thai, Capoeira, Piguaquan, Snake, Tiger, Mantis, Drunken Boxing,
    Bagua zhang, Panther (I think), Tai Chi

    Silat is not included. Silat is an almost popular martial art but I guess it is not so well known among East Asian martial artists.
