I watched this video soon after release in 2013 at 7 years old. Being over 9 years, returning and seeing these old tracks brings back tons of memories. Also paying attention to Troy's amazing commentary, *as always*, makes me smile. Love ya Troy!

good question, it's because we are not using any tracks that are in MrBean's current CTGP pack unless they are major updates like Luigi's Mansion or Cheep Cheep Beach. :P
You'll be happy to know that the speed mod is perfect for the track, just played 4gp's straight of it. The shortcuts work much better and aren't as over powered (y)
Personally, I HATE kalamari desert. It's design is good, but the thing I hate? That god damn train. It slows down the race so much and it completely ruins the pace. What type of obstacle forces you to stop??? Also, I'm apparently the only person who tolerates Desert Hills.
I appreciate Kalimari Desert for how unique it is (and being one of the only wild-west tracks in the entire series). Stopping for a train does seem really contradictory to the overall gameplay, but trying to outrun it can be exhilarating, and you don't have to wait long anyway. Plus the music's cool (now that I think about it, that tunnel shortcut is also cool). Desert Hills is fine enough. It's cool to have a track based on a world from a SMB game, and the hills at the end add quite a bit of tech to the racing. But it's mostly bland and not particularly memorable, and ditto for the music.

What I think will be in the top 10: Dreamworld Cloudway, Volcanic Skyway 4, Lunar Spaceway, GCN Yoshi Circuit, Heart of China, Sunset Ridge, Halogen Highway, District 65, Strobenz Desert, and of course, Grumble Volcano!
I actually like that Star City doesn't have a respawn point there because it keeps the authenticity of DKR Star City since if you fell off in DKR you didn't respawn.
@TWD98 Did you know that at 3:13, you can more easily make that shroomless by wheelying instead of tricking. It gives you much more air than tricking that you can do it on 100cc with a non-speed bonus character on Mach Bike.

Righto Troy, you NEED to know how to take that SC corner on GCN Bowser's Castle. You lead into it with a spindrift i.e spindrift from the top section and then land in the bottom section and... Booyah, bob's your uncle :) Hope this helps dude

DKR Star City is a perfect port, inheriting all the flaws from the original N64 version, maybe they should have based it off the DS remake's version which has a route on the bottom path.
Yoshi Desert gives some of the most fun races and is a great recreation of the GBA track, that's why it's there.

The only reason why i like Desert Hills is because its really fun to snake on it. I overlapped a lot of CPU's. Kalimari Desert is the worst track ever
