Comment about testing the solenoids: Solenoid A, which is normally open will click when 12V applied, however solenoid B, normally closed will not click. It is closed by the flow of the fluid, there is no spring inside. So if there is no fluid flow, it may be open and will not click when 12V applied. blowing air will not close it. You can shake it and potentially close it, then it will click once. I hope it helps. I have disassembled the solenoid to see how it is constructed.
We're gonna pop the roll pins out. Cuts to removed solenoids and roll pins.... I'm so frustrated bc of that! The roll pins are being impossible for me to remove
Should you have checked the solenoids beforehand maybe with an OBD-2 type device, I'm wondering what can be electronically be checked ahead of time with a OBD-2 test/scan device?
Hello friend, I'm from Brazil, I enjoyed watching your video, I have a question, I have a BMW e36 325, 4l30e transmission, it's shifting gears, but you can feel it even in the car, this car was parked for over 25 years, a garage, I just bought it from you, sir It could be the shift socket valve that is making jerks or jolts, the transmission light does not come on, but it only happens when you are about to change gears, it is not slipping
My 99' 528it has a "GM 572" auto transmission. Is the procedure similar on that transmission and are the actuators easily replaceable like this? Thanks for your videos!
im having same issue with my 1999 E39 getting a check enging light, i forgot the code but it stated shift Sol on my scan reader i think im going to do both Sol and new Fluid gasket Kit etc and just be done with it car drive fine every not and then coming off 2nd going into 3rd gear its goes into a long shift the kicked in but it does
Hi pro I need to answer pls how can I know transmission for 528 or 520??? Code or something my e39 1996 my engine is 2800 but transmission idont know please help
Great video. I am currently fighting with a 2000 e53 x5 no reverse, going to be changing the solenoid on the zf tranny on sunday :) Did you check the solenoids for proper engagement in BMW INPA ?

All the Gm Transmissions are set up like this with the solenoids
What does adjusting the band do?

Zf with no reverse probably broke the drum
reverse works fine when in failsafe mode.. weirdest thing ever!
What type of transmission are in and what fluid do you use in 2002 & 2003 525i?
Do you have a direct contact ?
