Let’s Enjoy Roppongi Hills Christmas Market and Christmas Illumination on Christmas Day!
A Roppongi Hills Christmas market with all the frills, this festive event has all the trinkets, treats, and trees you need. Running alongside the nearby illuminations, it’s a great way to get into the spirit of all things yuletide.
Though be warned, the queues can get ridiculously long, especially during the approach to Christmas.
The market is intended to reproduce the Christmas market of Stuttgart. There will be a variety of stalls with traditional decorations, gifts, and plenty of food options like German sausages, stew and stollen. It isn’t the largest of the markets, so don’t expect a full day of things to do.
Each year, the 400 meters of Keyakizaka Street behind Roppongi Hills becomes one of the most popular couples’ strolling spots with brilliant blue LEDs decorating the trees and Tokyo Tower providing the perfect backdrop.
In 2023, there will be around 800,000 LED lights. Mohri Garden will be lit up and the Christmas Market will return. There will be several types of Christmas trees, including a flower-inspired tree at Roku-Roku Plaza.
The illuminations begin in mid-November and will run until December 25, shining from around 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. each night.
If you are looking to take the iconic photo of Tokyo Tower and the row of lights, the best spot without causing a disturbance in the middle of Keyakizaka Street is just past O-Yane Plaza where the Christmas Market is held. If in doubt, just gravitate towards the mass of people.
