I tried to consume the serum from the snow fungus , it's very dangerous to consume too much because it will thin the blood too, can't take too much, when I was working in hospital, there were cases of patients that consume snow fungus everyday pre-surgery and they bled a lot on the table, apparently the surgeon said that some of these plants are anti-coagulant.

I grew up eating this thanks to a bountiful Korean market in my home town, but I had no idea what it was, I just assumed it was another type of seaweed. It's delicious when fermented, adds a nice chewy crunch to salads but doesn't taste as pungent as seaweed does. Unfortunately, it's not served in most restaurants :(

I just bought quite a bit of this fungus. I vaguely remembered it in my memory and that I needed it in my diet. Or at least I used to need it. I still do…. Years ago it was prescribed, but I’ve never been able to find it since I moved shortly there after.

It is very hard to find a healthy and clean source of this fungus and our other Asian fungus is used in Asian cuisine, it either has sulfur dioxide or some other crazy ingredient preservative and I have no idea whether these are farmed or wild harvest and if farms most likely not organically farm. All of this matters for your health

In Chinese grocery store, you can buy dried snow fungus. It’s dried goods, and has no preservatives. It doesn’t taste much in and of itself, but I like its texture. It also goes well with strong-flavored soup base, like chicken or oxtail or pork bone soup. (Beware, it’ll also thicken the soup too, so don’t boil it for too long.)
