It warms my heart that people are still discovering Finch. What It Is To Burn definitely set the bar. Alexisonfire's debut also came out in 2002, and the previous year From Autumn to Ashes dropped their debut. Both definitely worth a listen.
My nickname in high school was Finch because I used to wear the band tee all the time and was obsessed with them! This is such an incredible song! Hits you every time when he opens up on that final chorus!
Finch was the band that introduced me to screaming/screamo. I had transitioned from green day -> lookout records poppunk -> fat wreck chords skate punk -> say anything (their EP in 1999) to Drive Thru records bands. and that brings us to Finch. When this album dropped, I had never heard anything like it. It blew me away.
The album "What it is to Burn" is amazing! I saw them in SLC, Utah - after they released "say hello to Sunshine" -a bit heavier album than "burn". Their show in a cramped, hot and humid club - but they had so much energy. Also, the song "worms of the earth" is worth checking out too.
I played with these guys, hung out with these guys and have been featured in their instagram stories this year. This band is too good, like the best there can be 2001 ever. They deserve so much more attention, especially R2K..he is amazing.
The Smiths were sort of the quintessential "pre-emo" band, back in the early to mid 1980s, fronted by Morrissey. Not even close to the kind of music you'd normally listen to on your streams, though you might enjoy some of their stuff on your own time. Their sound was more synth-pop/post-punk vs. what's typically thought of as "emo" nowadays, but the lyrical content was squarely in emo-town. "How Soon Is Now?" is probably their best-known single & has showed up in a few movies over the years.
I found this song from a call of duty edit in 2015 and ever since, it's been my favorite song. Seeing others notice this song and it's perfection is so awesome
Wow doing Finch?? Yeah this was my jam in like 03. I never heard this version until recently though, the version I grew up with was I guess the demo which in my opinion and a lot of other Finch fans, way better than this updated one. Funny side story, their publisher posted on their MySpace page that they originally started off as a Deftones cover band called Numb. And they got asked that question for years lol
I love Finch since they came out with this song. I think their second album is better than the first, but I still recommend listening to it to see their sound change.
@@RoguenjoshLive what!!! The what it is to burn album is a classic as lame as I am at one point had to pay 100 dollars to get it on vinyl lol you need to check it out for real!

Oh I love all of alexisonfire, need to hear more finch though
Entire “Say Hello To Sunshine” album is so far ahead of its time and amazing throughout.
Finch, Thursday, Brand New. Early 2000s was another level.
Finch is one of those extremely talented bands that would of been big if they never broke up
This song literally changed my whole view on music. My taste in music took a drastic turn after hearing this song. Thank you FINCH!

Watching my dudes react to Finch makes me so happy.
Play dead is a great song by Finch. Their whole discography is great
Still screaming this in my car in 2024

I'm from socal, saw them twice... so good in concert. Down to earth too... talked with them after the show. R2K the guitarist, was super cool.
This song came out way before 2009

Starting out as a deftones cover band really helped him reach his vocal potential. Definitely an album to play from start to end. 10/10
Literally my favorite band of all time, along with Poison The Well.

One of the best bands
Remember listening to them in middle school. Think they are from where I’m from.
One of my all time favorite songs. First heard it at 9 yo and forced my parents to get me a finch shirt 😂
Finch is glorious
This record is perfect
Finch was at the time, the king of emo. They were no match for any band and untouchable. Might also be the progenitor of this kind of sound.

Yes more please
Please tell me since 2 years ago you listened to this whole album cause it’s amazing
