nice to see ya out and about! You've motivated me to do a little more tidy up with each trip out to the shop. So now I commit to doing 3 things on each trip out (current temperature in the shop is right at 34 now, lowest in a couple of days) 1. what ever project I was intending, gets 40 minutes of the hour, 2. maintenance function, I put away the things I'm not actively using or continue to make brackets for the cleat wall. (10 min) 3. Sweep and tidy sweep the floor, empty a vacuum, vacuum out the saws or planers. Throw away that sandpaper that doesn't have any grit left on it, those sorts of things(10 min) not married to the timing, just a proportional division. Watcha gonna make now?
@@davidshanahan2484 And in between send you brother amazing turnings?! Up next, don't tell, is a storage rack, shed purge and then we electroplate trinkets for fun! Today after I finish my chores I'm trying to make a wind chime! Maybe a whirligig in the future as I always wanted to try that!?!
@blackbearhiker1420 Well I'd like to start a little place called bits n bobs and film it like yourself but I'm still a chicken about it but if anything you've shown you just start something and do a little at a time but when I do I'll invite you to my first video.

It’s been a great little series Tom. Your later videos were more polished and entertained as well as educated. However, I for one would like to see a little more of your last phase project details. There was a lot of progress crammed into this episode. It’s always nice to see what you accomplished and why you chose to do what you did while avoiding all the nail and screw sorting. Like everyone else, I look forward to many more videos, even if they aren’t all centered in the garage. Muchas gracias mi amigo!
I think people would like the other little projects too!! People LOVE organization content. It's empowering to see that small things can be accomplished pretty easy! All the "junk" is real life! Great Job! I'm going with Norm as I love the power tools. But for entertainment value you can't beat Roy, my wife always affectionately calls him the "goofy guy." I always wanted to take a class from but too late now as he closed down his school, that will teach me to start doing instead of saying "one of these days."
In my past I recall it being said that it's not what you got but it's what you do with it. I have two kids, a stepson and a workshop full of tools. I'm making stuff and fixing s&%t, ask me if I'm happy
There was a story of a landlord that was driving home from vacation with his family ....when they came upon a toytee set out on the curb. He stopped the Volvo wagon and found room to load it up. Mom & Pop landlords can be some of the coolest people.
The workshop is constantly evolving according to your needs. If you embrace the need for change you will eventually find the right locations for your personal needs.
I have at least 40 videos started; the ideas never stop. What I stared doing was just pushing them off to the side, letting them sit and sit. Now I have such a library of film clips that when I get a fresh ideas I can fill in the blanks with what I've already filmed. My videos still are really bad but nobody expects them to be good, however the things I filmed, and the things I'm filming, make more fun for the things I call disasterpieces.
