Euro Cylinder Lock: How to Set Out Drill and Install
In this Video I am demonstrating how to accurately mark out the spindle hole and keyhole for a Euro profile Multipoint Lock on a Rebated door. Using the Square as a reference means you can set the spindle holes out accurately even if the door is rebated, angled or chamfered for a leading edge.

A well presented instructional. Can I ask what size auger you used and are euro lock fronts a standard size? I think I’ll try a lock jig for the mortising, but you’ve clearly demonstrated that drilling with the right tools is the way to do the rest, great work, thanks.

16mm which is the faceplate size so be very carefull. some multipoints have a 18 or 24mm faceplate, but most PVC style ones are 16mm eurogroove

Thanks for the vid. I'm a home owner wanting to convert the deadlocking night latch on my timber door to this kind of euro+spindle multipoint lock. Some questions...
Is this even possible?
Would the metal strip that runs the length of the door be able to stop my door from warping? It seems to warp slightly in the summer when the morning sun beats onto it.
I'm sure you'd need to see the door to answer for sure but in principal can this be done?

HI, the metal stip wouldnt aid warping, they are only thin, is the door a dark colour as that often contributes to warping in the sun, the extra heat certainly affects them! changing the lock would be possible, there is a fair bit of machining to do both door and frame and then filling the old lock, but it should be possible!!
