I just completed watching this series... I enjoyed watching Kimberly teaching her "tips and tricks". You have a very sweet countenance and a very good teacher by the way. Thank you for the series.
I can’t tell how many videos I’ve watched on this subject. This! Yours finally got thru my thick skull! Thank your for making it so clear and taking it step-by-step for us beginners!
Ive quilted for 5 years and learned so much from this video about prepping my quilts for binding. Thanks for the detail in this series and all the little tricks you shared by going slowly!
Kimberly I cannot thank you enough for this series. I have learned so much from this series. All of your tips, from ironing to cutting, etc. thank you again.
This is a great binding tutorial, Kimberly. You did a wonderful job explaining the hand binding technique! Thank you and Lilly so much for taking the time to film this beginner series! It is appreciated!
Thank you so much Kimberly and the crew I am so appreciated of this series from beginning to end I have learned so much thank you cannot express how much it means.
I love to hand bind my quilts too, however, now I know how to do proper corners and now my ending will be pretty....thank you so much....the up close camera work was invaluable. 😀
This has been a wonderful series for anyone who is just starting quilting or has been at it for many years. I love the way you do the binding and I especially took note on the corners. Thank you so much, Kimberly. Love to watch how nimble your fingers are!! Hope there are more videos like this about quilts that you are doing. I so appreciate all the detail.
I just finished watching all the series, I feel more confident on doing quilts now, the only video that I didn't quit understand was for making the backing, will have to watch again the video.. Thanks to Kimberly for being a great teacher threw out these videos
Thank you, Kimberly. This is a great tutorial on trimming and binding a quilt. So informational, very clear, lots of instruction, not just chatter! Please make more tutorials. You are a great teacher. I was able to finish my quilt with confidence. It’s only my second one.
Thank you so very much for this video! I’ve sewn my entire life and just started loving quilt creating. Your explanations and hints were spot on. I must say I had a “duh” moment when I sewed my miters the opposite way. My mother’s motto was “a good seamstress always rips” at this point I’m closing in on great!!!
This beginner quilting tutorial was super fantastic. The printouts and videos were so detailed and so much information just what a newbie beginner needs. Thank you so much 🥰👍👏💗
Awesome job! I learned some new tricks to try when I do my binding. Thanks for the new tips and tricks you shared. I learned so much during this series. I really appreciate that you and your staff took the time to do this series. I will refer back to it in the future I am sure.
This is an absolutely fabulous video on binding a quilt. Kimberly covers each step in a very understandable way. This has become my "go to" video for binding. Thanks so much!!
Excellent video series Kimberly. I've been quilting for years, but I have learned so many techniques from you to make my quilting more exact. From ironing, to how to pin, to binding with perfect corners. Thank you so much. Of all my TH-cam subscriptions (over 60), yours is at the top of my list!
I as a beginner love that you didn't stop the video I loved you went thur the whole process.. I learned more about the binding corners I'm glad you stopped and corrected your mistakes that made me know what to do.. Again the video was awesome.. thanks I liked and subscribed!!
Thank you for this wonderful series - perfect for the pandemic. I especially enjoyed when you would show many minutes of cutting, ironing & hand stitching the binding. It really showed the rhythm & relaxation of that step. I plan to get some fabric that excites me & give it a go!
What an excellent tutorial Kimberly - this is the best I found on TH-cam - it worked 100% and I am thrilled with the results on My Happy Place binding :)
I loved this series!! Thank you even though Ii have been quilting for a couple of years I learned a lot of new techniques. I have been leery of free motion quilting but I needd to just take the plunge and do it! It may not be perfect in my eyes but the person I will be gifting the quilt too will not care!! Thank you again!! ❤❤
Awesome tutorial on completing the beginning front binding on the corners (pivoting 1/4 of an inch from the edge at the corner to sewing to off the edge to the corner, rather than cutting the thread at a 1/4 of an inch from the edge). Makes it more neater for when you fold over to the back. Thank you Kimberly!
Fantastic series, so much info especially for us beginners. Thanks to everyone at the FQS and Gina for their time , it seems even experienced quilters are picking up hints.
YOU have just gotten me through my first almost completed quilt project...Kudos to you and Gina for doing such a great series. All that is left is for me to bind my quilt and sit back and admire .
Ok wow! This method is easier for me. I know exactly where to hand sew instead of measuring. That did make it relaxing! I had to rip out the joining seam 5 times but I got it! This is my favourite method! Thank you FQS and Kimberly! The binding lays SO flat! I will try this method and machine the last side as a test too.❤
I'm going to try your tip on closnig the binding together. I've always struggled with that. I hand stitch the back binding also , I think it does look so much nicer and more finished. Thank you sharing ALL of this wonderful info. Enjoyed very much. 👍👍😊
I have just found your video tutorials Kimberly and have binge watched them all !!! some very interesting tips for me as I am about to cut a backing for my quilt so now I know how to do it . It was interesting to see you hand bind as my mother taught me this method and you are the only person i have seen to make a knot like she did. Thank you for sharing all you tips with us and for the beginner series x
Wonderful video- you did a great job showing how to trim up the quilt after hetting it longarmed. The details and the viedo footage were perfect and I love how you showed the entire process. Thank you:)💞
I've watched so many videos of handstitching. So far, I really like your way of handstitching the best. I will try it when I continue handstitching the back of my first quilt 👍😊 thanks for the tutorial ! 🤗
Thank you so much for this wonderful series. I just started quilting and have gained so much knowledge from your videos. How kind, generous and smart you were to do this. I look forward to buying many quilting supplies from you.
Love the video snd the colors. You and Pat Sloan have the same fabric(strawberries) on you ironing cover! I am going to change mine to something beachy! Have a great day Kimberly!!
Thanks so much for this! Binding is my favorite thing to do, but have always struggled keeping it even and I don’t like baggy binding. I use 2 1/4 in binding, so I trimmed my quilt with 1/8 inch batting overage. It works perfect and my binding is more even now! Thanks so much again for all you do!
Wow, great visuals and your hand stitching is exquisite! No wonder you find it so satisfying to do it by hand! Thank you for making this detailed video. I have been watching your videos, buying supplies and fabric, now it’s time for me to actually make something.
The whole series has been very informative and a great beginning class, plus also a great refer back to for tips and techniques. I know most people either send their quilts out or machine quilt, but it would be great to have a class on hand quilting plus a class for needle turn appliqué.
Thank you for another great video Kimberly. I have never pressed my binding after it's sewed on but I can see the difference it makes. I'm proud of myself that I'm doing so many things correctly but there is always room to learn. Thanks for all the tips. I do sew my binding on by machine so I will have to check out that video.
Very fine series. Thank you. Learned some things I never thought to do. Also just learned some things with binding I never thought to do. I used to leave that quarter inch of batt, then stopped doing it, not sure why.....I think I'll start again....
I thought that I was the only one who would stitch over my previously stitched lines when joining my ends.....I always felt like I was taking some kind of cheap shortcut by doing that.....so glad I’m not the only one 🤣🤣🤣
Thanks for this series...a most appreciated series that my granddaughter(14 years) and I would do together this summer and then do a twin size quilt later(on order from FQS). I did find that the instruction sheets were missing from blocks 7, 8, and 9...I saw the sheets in the videos and would appreciate having them for use with my granddaughter. I have a few more questions and will ask them later...thanks again❤️
I just completed watching this series... I enjoyed watching Kimberly teaching her "tips and tricks". You have a very sweet countenance and a very good teacher by the way. Thank you for the series.
Kimberly this is the BEST hand binding tutorial I've ever seen. I saved it for reference. Thank you!
Ditto!
I’ve quilted for years but I learned a lot from this series. Thanks Kimberly 😍‼️
This 67 year old first time quilter ready to hand stitch . Thank you for these great tutorials . Wish you had a sequel planned!
I said today this was my least favorite part, the binding. Then you show me tips and tricks 🤩
I can’t tell how many videos I’ve watched on this subject. This! Yours finally got thru my thick skull! Thank your for making it so clear and taking it step-by-step for us beginners!

I agree! I love watching tutorials because not everyone does things the same way and there's almost always something new to learn!
I just finished watching all the series, I feel more confident on doing quilts now, the only video that I didn't quit understand was for making the backing, will have to watch again the video.. Thanks to Kimberly for being a great teacher threw out these videos
I can’t believe the kits for this are still available. Definitely going to try it!

Such an amazing video series. My quilt is now complete. Thank you!!
I sure picked up some binding tips from this lesson! Thank you so much - I hate to see it end.
Great idea to follow the stitched line of thread…had never heard that before. Been quilting since the 1990’s. 😊
Ok wow! This method is easier for me. I know exactly where to hand sew instead of measuring. That did make it relaxing!
I had to rip out the joining seam 5 times but I got it!

Hello Loretta! The instruction sheets are available in the description box under each video.
Thanks I found them in different place than usual!
I always mess up my join at the end. I finally had to break down and get a binding ruler. 😂 Thanks for the series.
Thank yo! Good Job explaining.
Great tutorial! I do my binding the same way...only when I measure, I make it shorter by 1/4" so that I don't get any bumps.
Thank you very much. 💐
