I attend a recovery group (recovery from anything -- substances, people, emotional issues) -- and we have used the story of Kintsugi to show that people who once were whole, and have been broken -- can be patched back together, and we can even be proud of the scars and repairs, and be stronger for going through it all. Great to see you recovering these great artifacts -- and not hiding the repairs in some cases, but showing the care you have for restoring broken things....
Hello Gail and Alex. We had such a wonderful time on our mudlarking adventure with you lovely ladies. I had had a rough, long night at work, and this video was just what I needed to relax. Gail, how lucky were you to come across all the broken pieces of that plate, and Alex, you did an amazing job on the kintsugi repair with the gold leaf. The plate is my vote for the windowsill of wonders this week, along with the chatelaine's tool, I'm so glad you're not melting it down. Thanks as always for your wonderfully upbeat personalities and the informative stories behind some of your finds. I never knew about breast pumps being around since, well, almost forever. Truly a wonderful haul this week. Greetings and good wishes to you both from your friend in North Carolina. Take care until next time. The swans in the background are so pretty and peaceful.
HI GUYS!! I LIKE THE MAY FLOWER PLATE YOU REPAIRED, LOVE THE GOLD YOU PUT ON THE CRACKS. THIS DESERVES A SPOT IN THE WINDOW OF WONDERS. ALWAYS LOVE YOUR VIDEOS AND LOVED HOW YOU REPAIRED THE PLATE. THANKS FOR SHARING AND STAY SAFE AND HEALTHY ❤️ 🙏❤️🙏
It’s the chatelaine pieces for me, so much history surrounds them. They make such practical sense especially for crafters. I can think of lots of useful bits and pieces to carry with me, the bonus being never having to say “now where did I put that down?” Your lovely plate restoration was a very close second.
Ladies, you really outdid yourselves this week! WOW 🫶 The poison bottles are AMAZING, and that chatelaine set! Chatelaines chains were the “mom purses” of their day, weren’t they? “Scissors, nail cleaner, magnifying glass… no problem! I’ve got you!” Also - Betty White at 26:16 #awww! #StayGoldenGirls ✨
Awesome finds I love all the beautiful bottles and love the silver thing that was said it was part of a tool thing ladies had hanging from there dress.
That little perfume bottle that you found in the beginning with the hole in the side , I think I would have kept it and filled it with a blue grout and then put a small porcelain doll coming out of it 😀
Love the chatelaine piece! And the fact that you did not throw it in melting pot but took the time to discover what it was. It deserves a window spot ❤️
Love love love that Gail found all the pieces of a broken plate! That's in my top 5 favorite Northern Mudlarks moments. And the repair that Alex did is stunning.
Full of amazing finds , love my potion bottle I though I would have to guess , I had made a list ! Lol thanks for the shout out . Really like the mix of finds info and craft mixed up keeps you watching for more x
I have a suggestion. Since you’re both so artistic why don’t you try a little china painting. You have the kiln and the spirit of adventure. My experience with China painting has been doll making and repair. I just worked on a really nice doll head that had lost paint on one side of it’s head. I was amazed at how well it turned out without a great deal of work. Also fire on decals that could make some interesting decoration on some of the pottery. I’ve also made porcelain reproductions of all kinds of things by making plaster molds and using porcelain slip. So many fun things to do!
Beautiful Kintsugi repair on the plate! The epoxy and goldleaf is a novel approach. Every time I see you two in your wellyboots I think of Billy Connolly's song! Happy Larking!
The dish with the kinsugi treatment is an absolute treasure. So beautiful. Preserving history in such a lovely artful way. Thank you for sharing with us.
The beautiful plate. The Chatelaine was special. As a needle worker ( cross stitch, needle painting and satin work) I love the ability to keep my tools right on my person. So special.
The reconstructed plate.. its especially amazing as you found all the broken bits & looks fab with the golden over lay.. grand job Gail.. my choice for the window display.
Stiff & Sons made salt glazed stoneware insulators from at least the 1870s... lovely little pot. Those tiles are absolutely beautiful! Such strong colours. That little silver multi tool is fab! Alex did an amazing job of that gorgeous plate!
In those days many people did not have the education to read, even my Father in 1936, had to leave school in grade 8 to support his Mother and 5 Sisters. Having the knobs helped a lot.. So much between the beads and those beautiful poison bottles.
Hi. I just wanted you to know that good ole elmers glue will do the same if not much much better than epoxy. I personally have glued 2 700 yr old olive jars with it, one in my yard, one inside for years. The best thing is that its non toxic
Alex you have one of the most amazing and beautiful eye for cinematography I have ever seen. That is what first drew me to continue watching your channel from the first time I saw one of your videos. I had never seen any mudlarking videos before yours and thanks to your creative and exquisite skills with a camera I am now not only addicted but enthralled by it. I have always dreamed of living the life you and your wonderful mother seem to live. In an old house in the country living simply and peacefully with your animals. I've never been out of the US and have always wished to go to the UK. I still hope to go one day and you both have reinvigorated my dream of one day being able to go. I recently found out I have distant relatives still living in Scotland and Ireland. So again thank you for all you do to keep everyone entertained. ❤️
I found your channel through a collberation you did with Kit and Caboodlers. You and your Mum are as delightful as Fleaur and Kate. Your enthusiasm is just as infectious. I have subscribed and rung your bell. I watch mudlarking videos while doing my hand sewing on history specific clothes for my vintage dolls . the lovely music and soft english voices are such a sweet background.
What a lovely look for us who are interested in old thing that would be lost for ever if it wasn't for people liking your self's. We all appreciate the attention to detail and dedication you all give too these wonderful adventures. Keep it up ladies. Love you all from Steven from South Elmsall/pontefract Castle Town..
I love all the poison bottles and the tiny pixie head, but my choice for the window of wonders is the broken dish made whole again and enhanced with gold along its fault lines. A lovely up-cycling.
I think the side of the riverbed is the best place for you ladies to find the amazing treasures! So much to see and love the stories of the research about those items that you both find. Stay safe and well gals!
Hello Gale and Alex, I noticed something today. It is fascinating how certain manufacturers of medicinal's have their ways of attempting to keep their their customers loyal to their particular brand, Such as going out of the way for advertising to having it say on the bottling .... Trust our company to buy, it is the original and only genuine formula. Most of the time I just marvel at your luck and skill at finding things. xx I love blue glass.
Mining the chuck out is known as "tailing piles" to this day people can find treasure, ie: gold, crystals, and minerals in the tailings of old mines! Thank you for sharing!
I was going to suggest the same thing. That’s how the museum conservationists restore and repair antique porcelain. There’s a TH-cam channel by #Lakesidepottery. They have a very good video demo of the process.
Gayle was on fire again, all those poison bottles. Your adventures look amazing. Thanks for taking us along. I vote for chatelaine tools for the window
oh what gorgeous finds. Chatelaine pieces for the window. I have to say I love the pixie head, hope you do make a silver pixie head. Stay safe and take care. 😊
Hi girls, this video had a wonderful array of goodies. At the end, l adored seeing all your cleaned up and repaired pieces. So nice to see them all glistening with the sunlight shining down and the backdrop all your wonderful wildflowers you planted. I was especially taken with the blue and white plate glued back together with the gold leaf. That one would be lovely in the window l think. Love to all and to Pussycat & the Schwoo (sounds like a storybook doesn't it?) Janice xxxx
I’m in love with the concept of repairing a cherished piece with gold. It makes it more precious ❣️ For the wall of wonder, I nominate the repaired dish and the small blue poison bottle. Whatever makes it to the WOW will be just right❣️
Your videos are enjoyable. I pause the ground frames and search. Love it! The broken perfume bottle would make an adorable frozen Charlotte mudlarking (tiny stones, sand and clear epoxy water) or garden scene, with the oval windows. You could clean up and sand the broken glass edges with a rotary tool. I can't wait to see the future videos.
I think that the chatelaine tool loop should go in the window, because I've never seen anyone else find one. I think its very interesting and unusual! Thanks for your videos!
That's beautiful.
Eloquently put thanks for sharing and keep up " your patching"!
can You tell us, how You are cleaning the bottles?
...it's amazing, when they look like new!
No bread but peas or corn. Great video this week Gals!
I love you put gold on the cracks, instead of trying to hide them! Like accepting wrinkles, it’s part of life and history ❤️
And gray hair♥️I love mine😂
I love the gold touch too
That's the essence of Kintsugi....

Thank you for such an enjoyable film. Awesome.
A gold coin one day, and now a gold saucer😀
That silver tool holder would be good for the window. I'm glad your not going to melt it.
The pixie 🧚♀️ head was my favorite!!
It’s the chatelaine pieces for me, so much history surrounds them. They make such practical sense especially for crafters. I can think of lots of useful bits and pieces to carry with me, the bonus being never having to say “now where did I put that down?” Your lovely plate restoration was a very close second.
I agree. These were my choice as well.

Favorite thing this week is the little imp head🍀😊💚
Hi, some interesting finds amongst those collected on the hunt. 👍 Keep Safe & Keep Rockin
Wonderful finds, I vote for the silver tools and the smallest cobalt blue poison to go in the window :-)
Great as usual. Loved the plate. ❤️
I love the little pixie head and the poison bottles.
Awesome finds I love all the beautiful bottles and love the silver thing that was said it was part of a tool thing ladies had hanging from there dress.
I have used copper foil tape and soldiered the pieces together. Love your way also.
The plate repair was so interesting and I liked the blue pattern. An interesting history trip, thanks.
Love to watch you two lovely ladies! I live in the Southern part of USA! I am a big fan!
Another beautiful evening watching you lovely ladies! I like everything you found, the black and white basket weave pipe bowls maybe for the window!❤
I agree
WINDOW OF WONDERS The pretty plate ,Alex repaired.
T must say, the plate is gorgeous 🥰
Thank you xx
Mix a little mica powder with the glue for your kintsugi, amazing video as always, always so beautifully done with amazing finds, thank you.
The chatelaine piece should go in the window . What an amazing piece of history!
Great video!! For sure, the chatelaine!! 😻
Love love love that Gail found all the pieces of a broken plate! That's in my top 5 favorite Northern Mudlarks moments. And the repair that Alex did is stunning.
The plate repair in the Japanese style is simply divine! I love how you create art from the found items!
Love the blue poison bottle and the sponge print sherd.
Full of amazing finds , love my potion bottle I though I would have to guess , I had made a list ! Lol thanks for the shout out . Really like the mix of finds info and craft mixed up keeps you watching for more x
Yours, mine and ours. Sharing is wonderful between you two!
The victorian silver piece should go into the window. Second choice would be the elf head. It will look good in silver.
I have a suggestion. Since you’re both so artistic why don’t you try a little china painting. You have the kiln and the spirit of adventure. My experience with China painting has been doll making and repair. I just worked on a really nice doll head that had lost paint on one side of it’s head. Lid-ya…lol…the blue bottles are stunning…so much fun.
🙋♀️❤👭⚘🌷Kintsugi is such a beautiful art! Perfect for mudlarkers!
The silver tools for the window, most people would have walked past that well done.
I originally thought the chatelaine, but then the octagonal blue bottle was so beautiful, it would just shine in the window!
The restored plate needs to go in the window 🪟 of wonders. 🥰
What a wonderful episode, yet again you make me dream of faraway places. One day, I will find my way over there. Have a wonderful day. Take Care Dee
Nice bottle collection 👍
Loved this episode of treasures. The silver tools are my choice for the window of wonder. But they are all worthy.
The chatelaine would look great on a long silver chain ❤️❤️❤️❤️love it well spotted 🥰🥰😍😍
I like the little Pixie head it'll go great with your clay pipe mushrooms. I was thinking icicle for the melted thermomotor.
The little pixie head would be so lovely cast in silver for a necklace or charm
What a wonderful day of finds. I say the pin holder of silver in the window and the brown poison bottle.
Beautiful Kintsugi repair on the plate! The epoxy and goldleaf is a novel approach. Every time I see you two in your wellyboots I think of Billy Connolly's song! Happy Larking!
Where would they be eh? 😂
@Kazza 8240 The Hospital or Infirmary! Lol.😆

The dish with the kinsugi treatment is an absolute treasure. So beautiful. Preserving history in such a lovely artful way. Thank you for sharing with us.
The chatelaine would look stunning on a long silver chain ❤️❤️❤️love it 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
To many to choose from, the plate that Alex fixed is probably my best treasure of this video.
The beautiful plate. The Chatelaine was special. As a needle worker ( cross stitch, needle painting and satin work) I love the ability to keep my tools right on my person. So special.
I love the Chatelaine piece for the window of wonders or a poison bottle for the wonderful history you gave us. Thanks!
gold leaf added to the cracks was a very cleaver touch. It made the plate look like it was a work of art and meant to be that way.

Love the perfectly imperfect restoration of the blue and white plate. Restored with love.

I would be soooo excited if you sold some replica porcelain paint pans, maybe in a small assortment of shapes and sizes.
Alex you have one of the most amazing and beautiful eye for cinematography I have ever seen. That is what first drew me to continue watching your channel from the first time I saw one of your videos. Love the chatalaine piece and have to admit I like the black pipe and pixie head very much. Thanks for the fun trip.
I love all the poison bottles and the tiny pixie head, but my choice for the window of wonders is the broken dish made whole again and enhanced with gold along its fault lines. A lovely up-cycling.
Silver gilding would have gone well with the blue. I am not saying the gold doesn’t look good because it does.
I'd love to watch more crafts and casting..or beads
I think the side of the riverbed is the best place for you ladies to find the amazing treasures!
So much to see and love the stories of the research about those items that you both find. Stay safe and well gals!

Brilliant finds Ladies!
Great finds, I vote for the silver Victorian tool
Great porcelain and tiles and stories…just a remarkable site and haul.
i am so happy that y'all brought home that funky stone...that has GREAT energy...no idea what it is but it is so cool.
I vote for the chatelain part for the window !! What a great little find and well restored.
Mining the chuck out is known as "tailing piles" to this day people can find treasure, ie: gold, crystals, and minerals in the tailings of old mines! Thank you for sharing!
The hexagonal ink with the 'W' on it was a Waterman's ink. Great finds and the cobalt poisons are a treat.
I love watching and learning about the things you find
Put some sand in a box and use it to “hold” your pieces together. While waiting to dry
I was going to suggest the same thing. That’s how the museum conservationists restore and repair antique porcelain.

Beautiful poison bottles. Just love them. Lot of other cool finds. Love your videos. Can't wait till the next one. Keep mud larking.
What an amazing lark! So many great finds. I would say the plate that was restored Japanese style should go in the window. 🌟
So many beautiful things it is hard to choose. I like the repaired dish with the gold.
Excellent kintsugi repair to that little forgotten dish. Beautiful work, as usual.
Great job with the plate, I love the gold in the crack. I mix epoxy dye in and do glass repair. I have fixed many collectable bottles.
I am soo happy!! My day hasn’t been the best but now I have a new video of yours to make it better!! Thanks y’all!!

Another outstanding video ladies! I vote for the chatelaine to go in the"Window of Wonder".
Wee bit luck checking in😂 thanks guys❤️
What a wonderful and interesting haul 👍🏼
Idea of a craft: Dangling broken pipe with a tiny critter or bird who has built a home or nest. Christmas decoration, etc.
What a wonderful video this week! For the Window of Wonders, I think the chatelaine pieces or that itty bitty little cog thing should go in.
I recommend feeding birds non-bread products- there are many articles on the negative effects that bread can have on their stomachs. Lovely video!
I’m in love with the concept of repairing a cherished piece with gold. It makes it more precious ❣️
For the wall of wonder, I nominate the repaired dish and the small blue poison bottle. Whatever makes it to the WOW will be just right❣️

Thanks for the needed fix lovely finds 👌🌟🧡
Enjoyed this very much amazing history and the awesome finds
Great finds! So many intact poison bottles! And the chatelaine is a true treasure. I vote for it to be in the window of wonders.
I think that the chatelaine tool loop should go in the window, because I've never seen anyone else find one. I think its very interesting and unusual! Thanks for your videos!
