I think it’s similar to how people ‘embraced’ Volk after beating max. Max was a fan favourite and volk didn’t win ‘convincingly’ - until the trilogy, where he gained major respect. Yan is a favourite as well, and Sterling hasn’t had an opportunity to have fans rally towards his side, because of how he won both times. Hopefully in his next fight he’ll secure a finish or something to remove all the doubt 🙏🏽
Everyone complimenting aljo but had he lost his last fight, you guys would be ruthlessly roasting him.

Aljamain comes across as good guy, very intelligent and just a real straight shooter. He'd be good behind a microphone after he's done fighting.

I hated the guy for some time although i dont think he won the 2nd fight with yan he put on a good performance against one of the best guys in the sport and hes given respect afterwards so he has redeemed himself. Theres no doubt that he can beat tj if he can have a close fight with yan

If Yan is this far into his career and doesn’t know how escape a body lock then he’s a lot worse than I thought. It was likely Aljo being better on the ground and having a tight squeeze than it is Yan not knowing how to escape.

I believe he’s mentioned he wants to move up eventually regardless. But with Chito vs Cruz, O’Malley vs Yan, and Jose vs Merab all lined up right now to fight, its hard to say which fight is for #1 contender. Gonna have to see how all those fights go first i guess
