Stockholm is the capital of Sweden. It has the most populous urban area in Sweden as well as in Scandinavia. 1 million people live in the municipality, approximately 1.6 million in the urban area, and 2.4 million in the metropolitan area. The city stretches across fourteen islands where Lake Mälaren flows into the Baltic Sea. Outside the city to the east, and along the coast, is the island chain of the Stockholm archipelago. The area has been settled since the Stone Age, in the 6th millennium BC, and was founded as a city in 1252 by Swedish statesman Birger Jarl. It is also the county seat of Stockholm County.

Great walk/talk! A little of everything in this walk, you can’t beat that! ❤️👍🏼 I absolutely love when the sun reflects on the water like that! ☀️
The horse chestnut is commonly known in the UK as the conker tree because the fruit is used for playing conkers. You drill a hole through the middle and thread a string through. The aim is to smash your opponent's conker. Probably disapproved of now by the Health & Safety Police as someone might get hit on the knuckle!

Nice walk LWAS. Would love to move back to city area in Helsinki. It's way more to see there than here in the suburbs. Any plans to walk in Bromsten, along Duvbovägen? I lived there in the 70's in Duvbovägen 114, when I was only 5 years old 🌞

Really nice walk thanks Daniel. Your comments on how Sweden acted during the pandemic were interesting. I live in "fortress Australia" which had a complete border closure and many lockdowns. At one time or another, each state was closed to other states in the search for zero COVID, hence the population could not travel to another part of the country if they needed to. It was a mess.
