+mata schmata if they are trained from birth to pick up their feet for cleaning it become natural for them. The next step is trimming and then shoeing.
I really don't know about others but personally, your recently gone viral video actually helped me relax. I have a really severe anxiety disorder and I was having a panic attack when my friend sent me the video. It may sound odd but the fact that your breathing was so loud there, actually helped me calm my attack and get back into normal breathing. I now watch it every time I need help because almost nothing appears to help me. Also, the cleaning part was really satisfying and I think that's why a lot of people watch it 😁. Thank you for all of your educational videos!
ToonPrincess I’m not saying he’s not a good horse he is but I’m saying that horses are trained to lifted up there hooves so you don’t have to call me a bitch when I just told you something that is true
thank you for the perfect position of the camera......no music.....and no long winded talking or explanations.....you have the best videos on this subject matter.
Oh well never mind?!? There is an honesty to your videos that is pretty rare. No schilling of products, no clickbaitery, informative and actually quite sweet. I've watched contributors to youtube leap to a million subscribers through careful placement and networking. Keep it up, rarely miss your videos. I find them a good salve to the inevitable onslaught of nonsense.
sam henderson couldn't agree more. I've got fed up of the cults that build up around some younger metal bashes that could only dream of emulating Gary's skills. My grandfather started as a farrier smith and spent time in France in WW1 and Gary's approach reminds me of him. There are farriers and so called blacksmiths but these days is rare to see both combined. I like the style of just seeing the work with a total absence of bull, all power to your arm Gary
well done sir! it's always nice when the horse is cooperative ...I learned the hard way , when the horse raises his back hoof it's not always a kind gester...more like a sucker punch !
R. Taylor u never knew that 😂 lol basically everyone even i they don't ride knows that like i'm if a horse lifts his leg out of he blue he is probably ready to strike
I like watching an expert do his job. Quick, direct, confident. And the horse knows the drill as well. You make a good team. Thumbs up for both of you.
If having parts of the hoof shredded off isn't hurting it what makes u think the hot shoe would? It doesn't have pain receptors there, it's like nail not skin
Its so good to see a competent farrier at work. Gentle touches to calm, no raised voices or violence. Most farriers around my area are Amish. I have nothing against them as a people, but I've seen them punch, kick, slap, and even hit a horse in the ribs with the side of a hammer. My horse was in line to be shod and I warned the guy if he so much as looked sideways at my horse, we would have a huge problem. That was the only time I took her to them for farrier service.
I really admire your skills sir. I am no farrier, but am an avid blacksmith and tool maker. This truly is a fascinating trade and is an inspiration to watch.
I grew up around horses until I was about 12. Then my grandfather slowed down on the ranch and turned it over to my uncle. Horses are amazing animals. I wish I had gone to work on the family ranch instead of moving to the city (Phoenix). Watching you work with the horses reminds me of my grandfather. I can smell the burning hoof and hair. I used to love the spring and fall roundups with my uncle's and cousins and branding the new calves... such a simple and rewarding life. I envy you... Dunny seems so gentle...
When I was little, I went to Seaton Hackney to horseback ride. They told me, “When hoof-picking, you cannot pick the frog or you will hurt the horse.” So that made me think, oh, I don’t wanna hurt the horse so if I ever have to pick a horses hoof I’ll know not to do so. Then, I started watching these videos. I always see him picking at the frog with the knife but then I think.. he’s a professional so I should trust him! From then to now, I alway watch these videos. They are satisfying yet educational! I love horses!❤️❤️❤️
I find this so interesting as the practice of a Farrier has been around for centuries and never been changed or updated. That's the best sign that something is good and actually works.
I admire how you don't quit even if the horse is being a little bull headed I had a farrier come out once and she made one little jerk and he left. And made us pay him when he didnt even get one foot done
My three year old grandson Jaxson watched this with me and was fascinated. I had quite a time explaining the smoke from the shoes being applied as he thought this was hurting the horse. Then I noticed your response to a comment that the smoke actually smelled “quite nice”. Now I have an answer for the “Ewwwww” comment from Jax. Many thanks Gary!
Wow this horse was is smart ♡i love watching your videos ! The art of horseshoeing is amazing and is on my bucket list preferably with you but also any time i get the chance ♡♡♡
Personally, I love the cleaning and trimming part of these videos. Each horse has unique hooves with different patterns and conditions, and they change during the seasons, which adds a bit more variety to the cleaning and trimming process. To explain my interest, it's very similar to watching someone power wash an old driveway caked in dirt, or applying fresh, crisp paint to some old siding on a house. It's lovely to watch the transformation of something that had hidden beauty and only needed someone to care for it. In this way, it's more compelling to watch new trimming videos for a new experience every time. However, it's even more satisfying to see conditions like seedy toe being cleaned and treated for the horse's well-being. Perhaps in the future you might consider recording any medical cases you come across that you have to treat. Thank you for sharing your videos!
Seems like if a horse didnt like getting shoed he could make it very difficult, do they enjoy the attention or something? Do they somehow know you're helping them?
That horse has some nice feet. Not a fan of shoeing , personally but nicely shaped hooves... AND how thoughtful to pick up the feet for you before you even asked. My TWH was like that, I think he'd help with barn repairs if he could lol
WhenTheWindigoComes I have to shoe my horse because I take her to a lot of trail rides in gravel ride and sometimes we canter up the gravel rode (not my chose if I was able to walk or trot I would) so that’s why I have to get my horse shoed
Am I the only one who binge watches these because they are so satisfying or what?
Alfa Wolf nope....I do to when I should be asleep but get stuck on this lol
Fabian Sosa I’m doing that rn
I do it too lol
That’s why I’m here too. Lol he wonders why he’s getting all these views 😂😂
Nope
me: oh ya, cut that frog back. yes please.
mom: what in the hell are you watching
Mason Joseph this made my day!
AHHAHAHA
Mason Joseph nice
Lol
Quickly changes it to porn because it's easier to explain.
Dunny's really smart, he puts his feet up before you even touch them.
+mata schmata if they are trained from birth to pick up their feet for cleaning it become natural for them. The next step is trimming and then shoeing.
Horses are smart as hell believe it or not. They just act really submissive when trained.... like a dog.
mata schmata you mean well taught
The lost media channel Dunny is his name!
Funny is a very nice horse !
Am I the only one who thinks cutting frogs is one of the most satisfying things to watch? Or am I just weird.
This is a horse
@@MackofejFTW that delta looking think on its shoe is called a frog
Cause it's squishy
dang that would be really rough on your back and neck over time
This is so satisfying to watch
Oh yea
Hair done, nails done ,everything did 👌
Beautifully behaved horse. I always love seeing that.

Awww what a good Dunny boy, lifting his foot to help.
Lilly Dragon i guess he recognizes the tools and the man for what his job is and is just ready to go when he sees him!
Horses are trained to lift up there legs. Are you a non equestrian or what?
Jazzy_SSOSimer 3 no bitch and thanks for ruining the thought that he was a good boy horse.
ToonPrincess I’m not saying he’s not a good horse he is but I’m saying that horses are trained to lifted up there hooves so you don’t have to call me a bitch when I just told you something that is true
Jazzy_SSOSimer 3 im sorry its an automatic response when i think someone is being rude 😅
thank you for the perfect position of the camera......no music.....and no long winded talking or explanations.....you have the best videos on this subject matter.
Dunny to other horses
“ayyyeee y’all, just got my nails done come look at this!!!!”

Gary, I wish I had your magic hammer abilities. If I tried to use a hammer like that my fingers would be destroyed! Props to you good sir!
Jack Sparrow maybe if you stopped drinking so much jack
J L omg 😂😂😂😂
@@jl431 😂 omgg

I'm happy I have a reason to binge watch these. 😂 Wanna be a farrier in a few years.
Salima dh good luck!
That probably feels so good and relieving for the horse ☺️♥️
AdorableYT yeah, Minus having horseshoe pulled straight from a kiln pressed against the horse's hoof.
If having parts of the hoof shredded off isn't hurting it what makes u think the hot shoe would? It doesn't have pain receptors there, it's like nail not skin
Bitchin’ yea it must feel like taking ur socks off in bed after work / school 😍
SWNerd97 horses don’t have nerves in their hoofs and they are made out of keratin
SWNerd97 if the horse was in any kind of pain... you'd know about it, and so would the guy filming. He'd probably get a hoof in the side of the head

I know nothing about this, but it gives me absolute joy.
I dont know a thing about horses.... Nor am I that fond of them. But I really enjoy watching these vids!

I’m fascinated by hoof care. I have no idea why.💕

Danella Cullen Except our education system
Isabella Ocampo yeah HA! I guess there’s always an exception...
I love how he automatically hands you his foot. What a smart beast!
Wow...I’m speechless
THAT HORSE IS SOOOOOOOO PRETTY
OML
I admire how you don't quit even if the horse is being a little bull headed
I had a farrier come out once and she made one little jerk and he left. And made us pay him when he didnt even get one foot done
Which teaches the horse that if it plays up it doesn't have to be shod. Not good.
You make this look so easy. I used to do this at a summer horse camp in MN for over 150 horses and I was never as fast or clean as you 🙏
Amazing. Workmanship wow
"Dude you done back there? I got hay to eat."
What a lovely trained horse, great video 👍Thanks !!
You are good at your craft sir.
these videos really help me with my anxiety, thank you for filming them. bless you
What a good horse he knows the moment you walk back and raises his foot
The reason why your stuff goes viral is because this is genuinely interesting and ultimately very satisfying to watch.
Barely even had to ask him to pick up... Gorgeous horse
It’s awesome to see you upload monthly and keep up to date w your TH-cam channel! awesome :)
Even if they are more or less all the same I'm always glad when you upload a new horse shoeing video. There is something fascinating about them.
Aw Dummy is such a good boy! So handsome and corropative. Nice work :)
I like watching gary Hudson shoe horses he really knows what he is doing

Love these videos Gary! Doesn't get old to me, even if it seems perhaps the same old, same old! :) Thank you for sharing! Hope to see more!
Love your shoeing videos. I can only watch the play list so many times.
I am seriously in love with how well he picks his feet up. He would be a dream to work with
I love horses, I grew up with them. This is very relaxing to me. Thanks for sharing!!
I have watched my mother shoe a pony our pet honey, she did everything, amazing woman,,,,RIP mom..... xoxo

AMRAP, amirite? So satisfying, I can fall asleep to this.
A co-operative horse and an Artist at work. Great video Gary. I hope that hand keeps improving. Thanks.
I get SO SCared Everytime he starts to hammer, like at 11:38 and he's SOOOO CLose to hitting his fingers, I pray everytime I watch these.
You are a master. Well done sir.
I like how you let the horse give you his foot, I don't know much about animals but that seems like a sign of trust to me.
Some horses are just really obliging, they know the farrier, know what he is there for and just anticipate.
I love the scraping parts
This stuff is so satisfying lol. Thank you
This is so relaxing to watch
I do not understand but watching someone prep a hoof for shoeing somehow relaxes me.
I feel like shoeing is such a cool thing I love the farrier profession!
I love the smell when they put the new shoe on it’s like burning toast😂😂😂
Love your instructional videos. Now I can understand the strain it puts on your wrists and hands, let alone your back.
I've seen shoeing live so many times but it's still so fun to watch
This is labor of love like I have never seen before 👍🏼💙
My dad is 59 and he loves your videos
I like how the horse is so cooperative he lifted his leg right away
Before even touched
This is a real farrier
Wow this horse was is smart ♡i love watching your videos ! The art of horseshoeing is amazing and is on my bucket list preferably with you but also any time i get the chance ♡♡♡

Wow! I've actually never watched this being done, I'm fascinated!
I see your left hand is doing much better. I'm glad to see it improving
yes, it's improving day by day.
The last scene, the perfect pet.
Seems like if a horse didnt like getting shoed he could make it very difficult, do they enjoy the attention or something? Do they somehow know you're helping them?
They sure can make things difficult if they want to! Some like the attention, most just take it as something thats done every 6 weeks!
Very well behaved horse, thought the smoke would spook 'em!
How did i even come to this video. TH-cam is a freaking labyrinth
Why are these so satisfying to me
They're going viral because the sounds help people relax and ASMR is quite big right now.
That is an awesome setup!
What a nice horse he lifts up his foot for you
I like watching these on my phone, that way I can sit it on the table, flip it around, and watch it right side up lol
Your amazing !!!!!!! I love your work and you !
Dunny has a beautiful color!
these vids are so satisfying to watch
I’m assuming by the amount of likes, he does a good job of hoof care :) nice to see people take care of their horses without causing any pain
This is so satisfying to watch but it also looks back breaking
These videos are so satisfying🤣❤️
I love this! Your work is so amazing! ♥-♥
