Actually, Ingraham's whole argument that Biden was forced out by Pelosi is wrong and exploits the ignorance of most Americans about how politics works. Pelosi had no power to force him out, not just because of some legal or Constitutional issue but because if he resisted the attempt to eject him it would be an assured loss in November. Biden's successor had to have his endorsement for the switch to have any chance of success. It's much the same story with the party choosing Harris. Harris was always going to be the pick because visibly snubbing her would have alienated two of the most important constituencies in the party (women and Black voters) and thereby assured a loss in November. At the end of the day, any action taken to increase the chance of the party winning in November has to plausibly lead to that outcome. Actions that clearly can't accomplish a better outcome aren't going to be taken when the stakes are so high.

Actually, Ingraham's whole argument that Biden was forced out by Pelosi is wrong and exploits the ignorance of most Americans about how politics works. Pelosi had no power to force him out, not just because of some legal or Constitutional issue but because if he resisted the attempt to eject him it would be an assured loss in November. Biden's successor had to have his endorsement for the switch to have any chance of success. It's much the same story with the party choosing Harris. Harris was always going to be the pick because visibly snubbing her would have alienated two of the most important constituencies in the party (women and Black voters) and thereby assured a loss in November. At the end of the day, any action taken to increase the chance of the party winning in November has to plausibly lead to that outcome. Actions that clearly can't accomplish a better outcome aren't going to be taken when the stakes are so high.
