Mian Ren is a form of traditional Chinese folk art. Flour figures are made of coloured rice flours, colouring, stone wax and honey. Craftsmen can make... various shapes and designs, such as animals, plants, and even intricate scenes, using the colored rice flour mixture. The stone wax and honey are used to bind the flour together, creating a pliable and durable material that can be molded and shaped.
Mian Ren, also known as "flour figurines" or "flour dough figurines," is a traditional Chinese folk art that dates back centuries. The craft is often performed during festivals and special occasions, and the figurines are typically displayed or given as gifts.
The process of creating Mian Ren is labor-intensive and requires great skill and patience. Craftsmen must carefully mix the ingredients, knead the dough, and shape the figurines by hand. The end result is a beautiful and delicate work of art that showcases the craftsmanship and creativity of the artist.
Some common subjects depicted in Mian Ren include:
    - Mythical creatures like dragons and phoenixes
    - Animals like horses, cows, and rabbits
    - Plants like flowers, trees, and bamboo
    - Scenes from everyday life, like farmers working in the fields
    - Figures from Chinese folklore and mythology, like the Eight Immortals
Mian Ren is a unique and fascinating aspect of Chinese cultural heritage, and its beauty and significance continue to inspire artists and audiences alike.

I remember as a kid, an old Chinese man making colourful dough figures (dolls) in Malacca, during the '60's.
