The strategy seems to be to deliberately fail the USO to push the government in a corner.
If RM cant deliver the USO, then no one can. This will force the government to either nationalise RM again, which it wont do, or drop the USO, which is the aim of this manœuvre.
The board has to be fully complicit in this.
Any business that has a 'USO' style model, railways, water, gas,, mail, should NOT be privatised because taxpayers end up having to subsidise them

I work for royal mail. All this is just theatre, for the proletariat, to show them , look, we are on your side, we , care, they don't, I have no doubt Darren Jones is sincere , it just means nothing, thompson left with 700k.

I posted a birthday card in May of last year to my friend. Nothing showed up until Xmas week. This is true. I tried every which way to complain but found that impossible. They even said my gmail didn't exist! Which it still does.
