I have a new favorite bass player, Richard Bona. He made 8 yr old Áron Hodek feel comfortable on stage, and his smile is contagious. You just see/feel the positive energy emanating from this man.
I had the pleasure of teching Richard for one gig only, he was by far one of the coolest, nicest, just overall best artists I've ever had the chance to work with. Great guy. Great player too!
That brought tears to my eyes! Man, best joke ever. Kids are so damned cute. Got one myself and I love how kids are always “on” to learn new stuff. This kid is awesome, but the band is so generous it hurts. Shared love for music.

Yeah, The basic Chicken riff isn't that difficult finger-wise but it's easy to lose your place if you don't concentrate. This kid has it all on point and can keep it going for as long as he needs. that's impressive at such a young age.

Having played for about 20 years, and having played this tune about 11.4 trillion times, this damn kid is almost better than me at it. He can't have been playing more than, what, 3 years? He's got such good attack and all those ghost notes and everything, plus taking cues on the fly like that, what a badass! I was still playing with dirt and sticks when I was his age, haha!
I just saw him on another video and was super amazed by his soulful expressions as he played. That's how you know the rhythm is in the soul, the expressions come naturally.

Thank you for preserving music by inspiring the young ones. I wish I had this privilege growing up. Every path of me was musically induced, but none could spot them. I'm glad with the little skill on my harmonical and my lead guitar.
That little boy's smile is priceless. And the way he's looking at his mentor for approval and encouragement. He just needs the stank face, is all. Beautiful partnership if only for a few minutes.
