- From the dvd "The Making of Bringer of Blood" that came with Six Feet Under's 2003 album, Bringer of Blood. Guitarist Steve Swanson laying down the track "Sick in the Head".
I dig Steve's riff style.
Fucking legend. Dont underestimate how groovy he can play
I got to meet Steve back in September of 2013. It was in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
He was out back smoking a cigarette and people were walking back to their cars. I was like WTF??? No one noticed Steve standing there?!?!?! I went to him talked it out for like fifteen minutes got some pictures. He was a nice guy and cool too. I don't know him personally but he was very chill with me talking to him about stuff.
I met him in Germany. Thoroughly nice guy, calm and softly spoken, always has time to talk to people and incredibly modest as a Musician. Wonderful chap!
No one noticed a Metal God !! Anything Steve does is just Killer !! Metal For Life \m/ \m/
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉❤🎉❤
His tone is fucking amazing the way the lows ring out.
SFU ain't SFU without Greg, Terry and Steve .
@Captain Weedsmok lost their groove Lol
Allen west
@@jim4596 his riffs were something else 🤘🏽
as a guitarist myself and in fact record professional death metal albums i AGREE in no wat shape or form. Steve gave the their unique sound. Terry Steve and Chris were unique especially steve"s writing, performance and killer playing technic
I've been thinking this exact thing for years. The classic line-up.
Oh my fucking god!
Steve shreds
The best videos of six feet hunder live are with this beast. Drums bass and one guitar and sound like hell!!!
BEST ALBUM EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!2022
That guitar is so bad ass.
Absolute brutal death metal legend and levendi
Swanson is the GOAT 🐐
Awesome tone, love that riff...
The building is literally shaking from those cabs
At 2.25, the Camera guy obviously moved to the side of the Guitar Rig to get out of the path of sound. If you haven't got ear protection in you're not going to last long standing in from of those Marshall cabs.
Awesome
imagine Pat O'Brian in six feet under he actually would just FUCKIN overlap every thing cause his tone has no clarity but it would still be a badass sight to see
Einfach nur Geilllll 👍
Getting into playing guitar and love sfu's sound specially silent violence riffs.. Anyone know what set up Steve has on his guitars, I read he plays Jackson but that's all I know. Love to know what pick ups he uses so I can replicate the sound man.
SuperJackdaripper emg 81 and 85
Thoseb old bolt on.. all maple dinkies were monstrous sounding.
Correct man. You better believe it! Some people say that doesn’t matter… I disagree
fuckin beast
Hard to believe he's getting that tone from that rocktron velocity pre amp and power amp. The Mesa rectomfrier isn't even on.
Love ya; miss ya. Go Caps lol
I do believe he still has that spider web Jackson dinky USA. Also believe it to be all maple,, Maple neck bolt on Maple body 2 emgs
I absolutely still have that guitar. Correct maple body. And EMG 81-85. Cheers brother
Why did he leave SFU? What’s he doing now? HELP!
@Frater Simon i believe has to do with control issues from Barnes. He talks everything in first person, specially since Greg and Terry left, so probably Swanson felt tired, just speculation, recommend to watch or read interviews with Terry Butler about his experience leaving SFU, he was really tired of Barnes
Does he use EMG’s ????

He didnt use that mess amp. It seems that it is powetrd down. So he used his racked gear? And what is that black and red pedal on floor? Is it some multi effect? And i see some boss noise gate next to him. Anyone know?
I totally assumed it was the Mesa, well spotted. The long black and red pedal is probably a foot controller for the rack pre amp. IIRC he was using Rocktron stuff.
I had all my gear there. What you can’t see is the other Boogie Road King that was actually in the control room. And… the cabinet I’m using is a Boogie in an isolation booth. I may have done an extra track here and there with the Rocktron rig. But, everything after True Carnage was Boogie.
@@steveswanson9488 thanks steve. i love you riffing. you are inspiration.
both Jackson's are maple bodys
pittbullbill he told me. Both are solid maple the v was stolen and jackson built another
pittbullbill usa dinky bolt neck all maple
Yes correct. 🤘👊
Barry Sanders jersey
is he still in sfu
james Reed nope
@@s.daniels_9053 who does he play with now he was badass
@@bleedingflesh224 god knows
@@bleedingflesh224 nobody. Coming straight from CBs mouth Steve has completely retired from music as well as the fact his house was robbed and the stole every single bit of his music equipment. WTF is wrong with people smh.
@@brendenblack2756 yeah I commented this 4 yrs ago I didn't know much about SFU but he seems be to the best riff writer they ever had.
