Usually clear visors are allowed but tinted ones are usually banned because the refs need to see ur eyes for concussion tests in the nfl it says that tinted visors are banned unless for medical reasons
Tell me if I’m wrong, but I’ve always thought that if QB’s were allowed to wear tinted visors it would make it harder for the defense to read the QBs eyes when looking for an open receiver

Id say it really depends a lot on your position. Guys that generally don't need field awareness like running backs, offensive line, and defensive centers probably would be way better off with visors. Guys that need that extra awareness and arent at the biggest risk of heavy hits are probably QB's, WR's, safeties, and linebackers. Guys that need awareness and protection need to make that judgment call for themselves. Guys like tight end's, corner's, defensive end's, most special team units.
Two things to cover: what do some players do to make their jerseys appear to be spray glued to their pads? Second, different ways pros wear their football socks. They are all issues the same ones but they all wear them differently.
As a High School and D2 player from the 1970s I would have LOVED to had a visor . As a DL and LB i personally had several incidents where my eyes were poked and scratched . I even had a OL get his finger hung in my cage . You might mention how a "stiff arm " often results in a back or wide out actually getting away with a Facemask
I always wore a visor because I had an eye injury a few years prior to playing. One game it was raining so hard I took it off at halftime and literally the very next play I nearly got poked in the eye. It’s worth it just for that reason. Plus it made me feel like robocop 🤣
Might sound weird but I play both O and D line and I wear a visor everytime I play. I would 100% STRONGLY suggest you wear a visor not because you look cool or anything but my lineman out there know how it is in them trenches and it get dirty FAST ! All the face mask and hand to the face is crazy and just all the physicality in them trenches is crazy. 100% rock a visor. now im not saying go out and get a BLACKED OUT one but get one for sure better safe than sorry y'all. #TrenchGang

I play offensive line and have been rocking a visor all year and I love it to be honest, I've managed to get turf in my eye a couple times and I hate it(from the pancakes obviously lol) also I think it looks awesome, also great video man!

Playing in the cold in Minnesota, wearing a visor was nice when it was windy because it helped keep your eyes from getting too dry, and it helps keep you warm

I personally wear a clear visor, but would like a tinted one, but the biggest downside for me is that, I get pretty hot and sweat a lot in my helmet, so it is about as bad as using a visor in the rain, but I deal with it.

As a QB you want the DB's looking at your eyes and head, if you have a visor on there looking at your shoulders and body, which is a far better indicator of where your going to throw it.
I really really want to start playing tackle football but my parents won’t let me and I was wanting to wear a visor because I just saw a bunch of people doing it and my dad so that it is really hard to clean them but I have found a few that I personally just love a bunch like there’s a smoky gold one there’s one that is pink with the rainbow on the other side of it and that’s what I really wanted a visor for so and you actually helped me out a lot so now I know what to do with a visor if I get one on my football helmet that I don’t have yet because my parents won’t let me get one.

a coat of rain-x plastic. works wonders. i play paintball and we use plastic visors, we dont have to deal with fogging as much because of thermal lenses. but you put on a coat of rain-x plastic and water just rolls off.

I wore the first generation of visors in the 90's. They were held on with zip ties... we could sharpen the little tale of the zip tie so anyone who grabbed your mask or tried to smack your face got an added surprise :)
