I purchased this light from lowes 2 weeks ago and am very pleased with it. It is just as bright as my g2 led with a cree q5 drop in, lasts almost 3 times as long and has low and strobe. Outstanding review sir!

These flashlights will also fit in a standard 40 mm scope ring and you can attach it to any picatinny rail that you choose. So really consider thinking about getting one of these if you want a cheap affordable light that runs on easily acquired/affordable batteries

I've had mine for over 3 years now. I have dropped it a couple times but it still works perfectly. I have used it quite often and have only replaced the batteries around 5 times!

I went out and got the new XL50. In comparison to the old XL50 it's just a little brighter but the hot spot of the beam is a smaller so that extra focusing is the reason for over double the candela. Really liking this flashlight! I like it as a pocket light but every day I find that it can turn itself on in my pocket so I just lock out the tail cap. I actually changed the o-ring to a slightly thicker one so the tail cap would be tight to the body of the flashlight when loosened away from the battery carrier so it doesn't change position in my pocket. One thing to mention is that the battery life is slightly worse with the new XL50. 6h:30m on high and 33h low. Still totally acceptable for what this light can do.

I have a XL100 from about a year and today I buy the Xl 50. For me this are the best light that maglite ever made. I used even under the water a cupel of times and the XL100 still alive so I decide to buy this one because this have the functions I use more. I recommend this two to every one, especially the XL 50 for the person ho want's a simple but powerful light.

I love maglite. I have a 5 cell that I bought over 20 years ago that I used for security work and other than a few scratches it is in superb condition. It works fine so i went out and bought 2 more and they have both been in use in the house and the car for years now.

I have one mounted on my 12 gauge. I do plan to mount a better light, something such as an olight or a surefire but I will say this light has held up wonderfully. I've put at least 50-60 slugs through it and countless bird shot with the light attached. It still functions completely fine. very surprising for a $30 flashlight! maglight does make good stuff not as nice as surefire or olight but it's definitely a viable option if you're on a budget. If it can handle a 12 gauge pump then it's a good light in my opinion.

Jut purchased one at Home Depot. It has 200 lumens, comes with a lens holder/ anti roll device with 4 different colored lens, a pocket clip that can be tightened down with a wrench that is included. It produces 12533 cd and has a run time of 6 hours and 45 minutes on high and 25 hours on low. The range is listed at 224 meters. Price was 29.97. Need to purchase an additional two units. This is an fantastic light. The part number is 163-000-214. Happy holidays all.

I gotta say, the guarantee is holding true to this amazing machine. I'm in the process of testing my xl50. So far it has been on high power for 5 and a half hours now and has only dimmed a little bit. I'm loving it more and more by the day! Can't wait to get an xl200. If this one's super bright, I can't imagine how bright the 200 is!

I have had one for some time, and carry it in my Fanny pack along with my .38. The only problem noted is that the button will come on by itself from getting bumped while in the pack. I really would prefer a twist-on rather than a push-on. I now use a soda bottle cap to slip over the end to prevent accidental turn-ons. Other than that problem, it is one fantastic light.

I saw this one at the home depot, I was debating myself between this one and a Duracell Daylite, hard choice because you couldn't test neither of them, so I searched it and found your helpful video. So I opted for the maglite. It's $29.99 but I might search ebay to get a diff color. Thanks for the review, very helpful!

I bought this on eBay for $28 dollars. I ripped out the plastic reflector and dropped in an AR coated lens and a collimator lens. They fit snug and now I have an awesome flashlight with a floody beam. Very useful when you first walk into a dark room.

My $8.00 Energizer "Pen" Flashlight I had been using at work for 10 months died on me today. Never sleep with that in your pocket, the plastic threads on the cap will crack. Picked up the XL 50 with the 104 Lumen version. Supposedly they have upgraded these to a higher lumen though the 104 was all they had. I was so surprised to see you reviewed this, it's my first "Tactical" Flashlight. Complements my Grandfather's 3 Cell Maglight nicely, even if it out shines the old Incandescent bulb ;)

Yup, that's a Maglite, artifacts & all. I'm sure it doesn't affect performance much, but flashlight aficionados can't wait to point out those black circles & lines once you started turning the head. I think it's a perfectly good light for beginners. Darn it! I can't get all the flashlight snootiness out of my review comments! Aw, I've been spoiled with all the Fenix's & Olights & Nitecores in my life. This looks like a decent performer. Thanks Sootch, & Merry Christmas to you & yours!

Everyone dogs Mag-Lite, but they were about as good as it got flashlight wise for a number of years. They've keeping up with the fancy LED, multi-mode flashlight manufacturers as well--at a reasonable price point, and in the USA. Pretty decent in my book. You can find an even more complicated version of this at your local Target (at least I can) for a few more dollars. I've been eyeballing it myself.

I'm gonna check one out at Home Depot tomorrow. Have to go there anyway for other stuff so I'll check out the light selection too.
I bought a Coast Lenser LED light that looks just like this little Maglite and it is one bright little sucker! I've had it for several years now (also uses three AAA batts) but I could always use another light if it's as good as my older Coast Lenser model.
Years ago Sure-Fire was among the only choice there was. Very expensive and the batteries were too :(

I also have an 80 dollar surefire and this maglite is basicall just as bright
Just goes to show that ur usually paying for the brand name
Maglite makes very durable lights tho and in my opinion this one is worth every single penny

I just picked up a maglite at Walmart last weekend. It's a longer model that fits two AA batteries in series, also with LED. There was a fourth setting that was an S.O.S sequence. Maybe yours has that too? The strobe was a lot slower on mine, which would lead me to believe it might last longer in that mode. It doesn't have the push button though, which would have been nice, but not necessary since the tube is long enough to get a grip to turn. I guess it's necessary on the very short models.

Try the Coleman MAX in 135 lumen. For the money it rocks. Ive had mine for a year and has low watt red lighr for preserving night vision and low watt blue. Mine seems to have a better beam without all the artifacting too. 35 bucks and walmart has started carrying them. It has the same carriage to hold 3 AAA batteries and can be removed to use the lithium batteries.

I paid $30 and was dissappointed because when I was screwing the cap back on it felt like those cheap $3 autozone ones that strip the threads easily and it didn't have the spare bulb storage. It is powerful and it has that bright strobe setting that can blind someone at night but I wouldn't buy it unless you're an emergency responder, It's MADE IN USA!

Also with a little ingenuity, a large pressure switch from a laser will fit into the bottom cap. Almost perfectly, just remove the button from the bottom cap, run the switch and cord thru the inside of it. Then just screw the cap on and there you go.

Nice review. I've had my Xl50 for about 6 months now and it's a good quality light. For under $30, it's good buy especially when you consider the 139 lumens. The strobe is a nice feature too. It is bright enough to disorient an aggressor in a low light situation and give you the edge you need to get away.
    Nice job

  • @NGMonocrom
    @NGMonocrom 13 ปีที่แล้ว

Sorry. Forgot to add that unlike alkaline batteries, lithiums don't leak. That, along with their 10-year shelf life, makes them the best for long-term storage just about anywhere. Especially in a BOB. LED technology advances even faster than computer technology. A recent LED model running on a single CR123 cell can give several hours of runtime on a low setting, while making it seem as though you've got the power of the sun in another setting.

Nice review. Does it have a momentary on setting without a delay? I like to have that for home defense but a lot of these multi-click lights have it but you have to push the button for a second the it turns on then you can release to turn off the delay is not good for a home defense light.

If you put a high-performance engine intro a tractor-trailer truck, you can't then say that it's not good because you couldn't get 0-60 performance out of it under 5 seconds. Streamlight Scorpion has been obsolete for about 4 years now. Put CR123 cells into a more modern LED light, and you will see a difference.
As for AA and AAA cells, they make those in lithiums as well. Alkies leak. When a flashlight company uses a 3AAA battery-carrier, they cheaped out.

Because on this review, I went and bought one today. I've used LEDs before but the bulbs flicker and don't work as they did when they were new. The ones I've used had 6-9 mini bulbs in them.
