Legolas was my favorite elf... until I met his dad. This mans is like, the perfect elf and by far the most perfect king.

Legolas charecter has super strength and healing factors but he doesn't use it. He used just his smart tricks and weapons to fight with enemies without touching the opponents.

People always seemed to see him as the evil and unfair elf, but his anger was for love. The jewels were his wife's. And that is last part of her he owned. He was angry because the dwarfs were keeping the last bit of her he loved from him. But one of the best part that got deleted was when Gandalf told Thrandruil. "Those jewels aren't the only thing you wife left you, my friend. She left you a son, now tell me, which, would she have you value more." God damn Gandalf was a way with words.

that's not true what about his son that was the last part of his wife that he had left he should have seen that although his pain for loosing her was greater then the love he should have had for his son from the beginning but at the end he does acknowledge his and apologize for not recognizing that from the start in his own way

I agree, but still “jerk elf” really does come to my mind when I see or here him. But, I mean, for being immortal, elves are really dramatic! Once they lose a soulmate, it takes them thousands and thousands of years to get over it! Sometimes it kills them.
Lee Pace's Thranduil commands attention and has unrivalled presence. I'm such a fan of Legolas but when he is in the same frame as his father I'm sorry but Legolas please step aside because you Elvin King father is absolutely stunning.

I’ll never forget when I saw Thranduil on the big screen for the first time, my heart just stopped! I was such a giant fan of the books and found Thranduil’s character to be fascinating, he and Legolas! The guy that played Thranduil was PERFECT!!!! 👌👌👌👌

Ох, как же он божественно играет обиду :) Это самый красиво обижающийся персонаж. Никогда не видела столь прекрасных эмоций :) Как предсказуемо над ним подшучивает гном, и как замечательно он смотрит на него своими волшебными глазами. Жаль что, этот персонаж так мало показан в фильме. Жестоко это...раздразнить зрителя столь прекрасным образом и оставить наедине со своими фантазиями. Очень хочется увидеть больше, но, мои мечты останутся мечтами.

такой волшебный персонаж, полный элегантности, холода и страсти. Браво костюмерам, гримерам и тому художнику, в чьей голове родился этот образ царственной особы с голубой кровью.
Вообще, по канону, у Трандуила и Орофера никакой голубой крови не было. Они были обычными синдар в Дориате. После падения Дориата они с горсткой выживших ушли на восток через синие горы, дошли до леса, где жили зеленые эльфы, и решили остаться там, потому что им понравилась простая жизнь лесных эльфов. А те уже ВЫБРАЛИ Орофера своим королем.

Для сравнения, Галадриэль - дочь короля, Келеборн - племянник короля, Элронд - правнук короля и муж принцессы, у всех титулы "по происхождению". Но не поймите неправильно, Трандуил тем и крут, что они с батей стали королями не потому что так положено по рождению, а потому что народ их выбрал. А они справились отлично.

I remember a comment from one of the production crew, about how Thranduil was probably 3,000 years old, and you'd think in that time he'd have learned a thing or two about hand to hand combat! And Peter Jackson's thoughts that the father would have learned how to be more efficient with his sword work. No need for spectatualar, physics defying acrobatics. Just in close and FAST! Yeah, I lost count of all the orcs Thranduil took out with just his sword, and some help from his elk.

I'm sorry, but two actors of my generation have truly elevated the "Shit Eating Grin" to an art form. First was Travis Fimmel as Ragnar Lothbrok on Vikings, and then there was this man, Lee Pace as Thranduil in the Hobbit Trilogy. Sirs, I bow to you both.
