  • Car prices are insanely expensive in Pakistan and at times we compare them with a country like UAE which is not a right comparison as UAE has a very low tax on cars. However, there are some cars which are still at the similar level in terms of prices as in Pakistan and I believe if you want to purchase a car purely on financially prudent calculation than cars like Corolla, Civic and similar categories make sense as their entry prices are around the same as what you buy in UAE compared to a car like Toyota Prado which is insanely expensive in Pakistan due to taxes!
In this video, I was out with a friend for his car shopping spree - so I just thought why not to speak about it myself too :)

And almost every Prado is used import & the valuation is done according the *BRAND NEW* price tag so basically people here are paying 350% tax on a used car but valuation is done according to the sticker price of the car so it's nearly impossible for an ordinary person/ middle-class person to buy an imported car

That is because of Semiconductor's short in supply. Because of it Toyota Corporation Japan has reduced its production to 50%.
    This shortage is rational

A new Prado V6 is 4 caror+ (I am not talking about Landcruiser)
      www.pakwheels.com/new-cars/toyota/prado/4-0-vx/
      Landcruiser V8 might be 5caror+
In Pakistan, the prices of cars are mostly impacted by their engine capacity and steep taxes are slapped as the capacity increases.
